Today has been 250 miles of pure bliss - 23 degrees, hardly any traffic, hardly any bugs.......

Glasgow to Inverary then the back road to Oban and home via the famous Green Welly stop.

1st stop Inverary

The back road to Oban - 2 cars in 30 odd miles - my favourite road

Arrived at Oban

Finally the Green Welly parked beside a rather nice Z1000

The weather was almost too hot today - I had my vents in my helmet open for the 1st time ever!

If you're doing the Oban run Ron take the Inveraray route. The road is far better/quieter and no police presence - the run up to Tyndrum and the "Green Welly" is best avoided in my opinion.

Yeah that's the plan. I was up at the wellie for the ducati open day last week, went up via a84; that's the worst it's been in a long time. Too busy and some boys trying for their own version of the tt.

Alan, Just clocked your post, respect. Guess the S4 seat is kinder than the EVOs. My plums would have been trashed at half those miles! The met was great up here Moray way on 9th and 10th, and I put a good few miles on. Also after 14 years of ownership, I had the both the upper and lower thru vents of my leather open for the first time. I was out again yesterday and it was back to the Gortex :chuckle:

Well Mallaig and back (500Miles) in two days, weather was superb and the
A830 to Mallaig is unreal......and beautiful.

Stand out moment is me and another guy "accidentally" blocking a woman in who parked in (and took up most all of) the motorcycle only section in her car. She was not best pleased when she came back.

I was cheerfully hoping that I'd finally get a weekend of riding through Argyllshire this coming saturday as the rest of the family are away doing other stuff, it's my area of choice when I get the chance.

.....now it looks like it'll be heaving down with rain for most of it.

Guess I'll just be in watching the GP then. ...with a beer or five!
