Nice board; signed up because I just bought a 2000 M900ie Dark - it's a hoot!

Not ridden a bike since 1986. The whole "you never forget" thing is kind of true, but it doesn't mean it feels natural...

Mostly just pootling around gently and getting used to the controls. Because it's not like old bikes - a big handful of twin Brembos probably isn't going to work out well...

Cheers!

hello and welcome

take care out there, the roads have only got crazier since the 80s (hope that's not "too many negative waves")

afraid the upload picture function is currently broken, you can stick them on photobucket etc. and link the image here using the little yellow mountain button above the compose/reply window

Cool, thanks!

"Woof, woof woof woof woof - that's my other dog impression"... :)

Yeh, I think cars need more isolation from the environment - so it's easier to forget you're piloting 2 tons of metal around - and a few more electronic distractions myself. Not.

Hmm, the IMG tag didn't seem to display that in-line, but it's a link - thanks!

Welcome Spuggy - I was where you are now 3 years ago in that I was a returning biker - best thing I did was find some refresher training - had a couple of one to one sessions with an ex Met Police Biker and joined in on the Met Police Bike Safe course, best thing I did for confidence and as a road craft refresher - enjoy the new bike it looks very tidy.

A Sherman tank should give you an edge...

Welcome to the forum from a fellow Farnborough Monster owner.

I second MerlinPV12's suggestion that you do a Bikesafe day with the police - best value I've spent on biking was a MetPolice Bikesafe day. See http://www.bikesafe.co.uk/
