Hi everyone,

I've just bought this Monster M900 IE and i was wondering if anyone knows the original owner who has done all the work?

Just looking for any info possible as it seem's to have a lot of work done but the owner now doesn't know a massive amount about the bike...

Cheers,

Roo

Thanks for that mate, found his build thread on it but half the stuff that's apparently done to the bike isn't on his thread as it must of been done after his last update then sold on!

Been on ebay loads over past few months with people winning it then popping back up a week or so later

Looks like a good basis for a restoration what with all the good bits already fitted

I think whoever is selling it wasn't getting the money they wanted as I'm sure it was up for 2k+ but no-one was biting so it went to auction where I won it :-)

From the pictures it seems clean so I'll just be riding it for now haha

Sorry didn't mean to sound rude :)

Just looks like it could be finished or at least have a mudguard bolted on ;)

Yes, I think it belonged to JMH900sie on here and he did a load of work on it.

Do you think he did the starter cables??

If he did then you might want to get some Loctite, superglue, padlocks and anti-tamper bolts on them- I think there's a few people here who might have first dibs (only joking).

That was a fairly decent stock Sie when he first got it.

The Sie is a bit special..It came with CF front mudguard, hugger and tea tray. Ohlins rear shock and Fully adjustable Showa forks.

I see that it still has the mudguard extension under the swinging arm and also the floating rear caliper.

Good luck with it mate and well done for saving it.

Nottsbiker, no offence was taken lol its all good! I quite like how it looks just now but I think I will run the front mud guard, it does come with one but God only knows if it actually fits going by JMH's build thread... I will be doing things to it but will be a while off as I have turbos to do on my RS4

Thanks for the welcome slob!

I did notice he done the cables, take it they are a big seller on here? If they are good then I'll be lucky if they are on the bike :-P

I don't know much about the SIE but I did look into the standard spec a bit and really liked what I was seeing but obviously this doesn't have most of the standard IE stuff anymore! Thanks buddy, can't wait for it to arrive and get riding it :-D

unfortunately whilst the cables seem to have sold quite well, joe has proved to be one of the least reliable people i've ever had the misfortune to deal with.

Does anyone have him on Facebook or anything like that? Would really like to get in touch to find out more about the bike!

yeah guy was a pleb. had dealings with him luckily nothing to do with cablegate but was a nightmare. what are your plans for it? other than the headlight and rear light i actually like it.

You can fit that Ohlins Rear damper remote under the seat - there is a mounting tab just for that.
The standard top yoke with the fancy clip-ons would bug me a bit.
There appear to be no indicators - is that an issue?

I would leave it there. Treat the bike as an adventure but you have all the nice bits you will need to improve on it. The tail lights off a m1100. I would change the front to a round one if it were mine though.

You will be pleased to hear that Joe (JMH900sie) is alive and well and posting on bikechatforums (http://www.bikechatforums.com/) under the name Jmh600 - he now rides a gsxr600

He hasn't offered to make the cables yet but does offer his ultrasonic cleaning service:
"It just so happens that I've purchased a new ultrasonic cleaner and I offer a strip clean rebuild service. For a single carb (as a complete unit) it's £30 including return shipping, and a 1 day turnaround."

I'd give him a very wide berth, never send him any money (or heaven forbid, parts of your bike), ignore anything he says and work out what you've got for yourself. I give it about a month before his unique customer service technique gets him in trouble there and on the gixxer forums.

See i really like the headlight as i feel it's different but does work well so that will be staying i'm sorry to say lol but the rear light is going back to a standard red one but uprated LED version. I'm not keen on the SIL exhausts but my 600 monster has titanium mivv exhausts which i've made into stubbies so plan to change them over as i'll be selling the 600 once the 900 is on the road :) but apart from that not much plans until i see it in the flesh as i won't get it until next week!

DrD,

I seen that on his build thread so that will be getting put back to where it's meant to be as it looks rank on the ride of the bike with a jubilee clamps... I will be changing the yoke for a different one just have to find out what will fit! Yeah i only noticed that after i had agreed to buy it lol but as far as i'm aware the wiring is there so just need to get some for it but if not then will just need to wire some in!

Albie,

Really i would just like to know what he done when the engine was out as apparently the internals have been played with and it rev's faster... to me that surely just means a lightened flt wheel? as i've said the person who has it now doesn't seem to know much about the bike

BLUNT,

I will try to contact him on there then and see how i get on!

slob,

I don't plan on having any dealings with him other than a spec list of the bike as that's all i'd like to know from him as i've said above i mainly want to know what he's done when the engine was out :)

Cheers,

Roo

Funny thing is Roo that I swapped an as new LED unit with built in Indis for a secondhand stock one and didn't even have a bulb with it LOL. He then decided a freebie from Bex was better as to why that's fitted and presumably sold on the one I swapped.
Can you not just search his posts on here. I do remember the talk about lightened flywheels as you tend to have a spate of this when people post and decide to do the same. I think if I remember it may have been Yorkie who did his initially.

Look here at threads etc

Less than 10 in uK? :)

I laughed when i read that to! according to https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/ducati_m_900s there are 65

Albie,

hahah so you swapped with him and he didn't even include the bulb? brilliant! lol i'm really not keen on that tail light at all it just looks out of place to be honest. I did find his build on it but it stops when the engine was out but it was before that he was going on about light weight flywheels so it may have one since it revs faster apparently but would be good to hear from him to see if it was done or even what was done :)

Cheers,

Roo

Got a hold of him OK bikechatforum

"ported and polished, has lightweight rods and Pistons, a lightened flywheel, and internal gearing has been lightened too. Aluminium clutch basket, race clutch plates and friction plates were fitted a month prior to selling it. As well as the ohlins front end and rear shock. A lot of work went into her. Oh, and she's got a k&n filter, as well as the crazy expensive sil motor cans."

I don't recall him ever saying that he'd done anything major to the engine tbh, although a lighter flywheel is fairly easy to spot same with the clutch and does make a dramatic difference to the engine pickup. I doubt very much its had any work done on the heads. It didn't seem to be apart for long enough and he never seemed to want to part with that much money.
