Hi All

The rubber boots on my Brembo master cylinders have split and need replacing. I don't need the whole rebuild kit but doubt I can buy what I need separately so will have to hope an overhaul kit is available...

I think my master cylinder is a PC 16

Black version of the goldline master cylinder but with the fixed position levers like the coffin ones.

Fingers crossed!

Ben

Actually I think it is a PS not PC

Not exactly sure I understand which part you're speaking of but check out this thread. http://www.ducati.ms/forums/56-superbikes/136327-999-brake-mc-rubber-boot-source.html
Perhaps run the part number of what you want by a KTM dealer if you can.

I'd heard that KTM had signed a liability waiver which Ducati didn't so they are allowed to sell individual parts from the Brembo catalog whereas Ducati is forced to sell a complete replacement part or refurb kit. Could all be nonsense but its worth a try.

Also found this rubber boot... second from the bottom of page 2.http://www.gutsibits.co.uk/pr/TheShop/index.php?f=e&Shnew=1&Model=1&ModelName=1100%20Sport,%20V11&Cat=BRA&CatName=Brakes&spPage=2#topbar

Thanks for your input

It looks more like that shown in your first link and nothing like that from the second one

Its the weather protection for the end of the mc piston where the lever presses inwards if that description makes any sense...

I have a set of these MC for sale if you fancy going the easy way.

New or used?

They are only £80 new and tbh I'm tempted or going whole hog and getting some radials as fitting these boots is going to be a complete pig

Thanks but mine are fine except for these annoying rubber covers. Piston and seals etc are all a1

Found rebuild kits for the 13mm clutch MC relatively easily

Had to laugh Motorapido have one (maybe had) on ebay for £199 plus post lol

Cant find a 16mm kit for the life of me but read many posts on the 'net that its actually 15mm (or some close imperial size) so will investigate that as well.

Considered buying a pair of MC's from a 1200s new off of Motorapido but again they couldn't supply rebuild kits so not much point for a bike I'm wanting to keep for a very long time.

Maybe a dead thread but I found this https://www.stein-dinse.biz/Brembo/Master-cylinder:::19_109.html?language=en

If its the boot seal for the rear master cylinder you want, that looks like the one? I imagine one size will pretty much fit all since its the OD of the body and the rod that's more important than the piston size of the actual master cylinder or the colour (15/16mm etc).

If you get stuck let me know as I probably have a whole spare rear master, but I don't want to break it down.

Does anyone know whether the master cylinder bore on an M900 1994 (coffin style) is the same as a 2002 S4 (remote plastic cylinder)?

According to the Monster bible, they are both 16mm (a PS16 on the 900 and a PSC16 on the S4).

Great - thanks.
You are a star!
What is this Monster bible?
I am currently rebuilding my M900 but using S4 forks that I bought separately (with Maxton cartridges) and calipers (65mm) also bought separately, but only 2 master cylinders, M900 and S4.
I have an S4 "against the wall" (project 3 or 4 on the list after my 750SS restoration and my Morini 3.5) and do not want to canabalise parts from it (brake master cylinder) unless I absolutely have to as it will end up as a standing parts bin rather than a viable bike/project.

A very useful book! Put it on your Christmas list...
