New monster - test ride!

I took a new (15 plate) Monster out at the weekend. Does anyone else find their feet clobber the pillion footrests and exhaust when riding with the balls of their feet on the footrests, or am I just odd? I have relatively small feet, well below average I'd guess so that's not it...

yes, almost everyone does but I got used to it pretty quickly (a couple of days) although I spent most of my time on one with a pillion, so mostly had my feet a fairly flat

Was it the 821 or 1200? Am I wrong in assuming there will be more room on the 1200?

It was the 821. The chap who was trying to sell the bike said he'd never of that before...

It's the same on both the 821 and 1200 and I thought it was annoying enough to put me off.

I think they've changed it on the 1200R to give more room, so it was probably something a lot of people found to be a problem.

Yep - 1200R has been modified so your heels don't touch the rear sets as easily (although your heel still comes in contact with the exhaust heat shield! :rolleyes:) - miles better tho'
