Long shot I know but does anyone have a cam shaft end cap for a 1992 750ss?

I have one seized cap bolt that won't even drift out and the end cap will certainly crack.

I am way past knackered Allen key hole, Plus Gas, heat and hammering:hissy:

Many thanks.

Can you weld another bolt onto the knackered one to help get out?

i,m with Nottsbiker on this one, welding something on the end of the siezed part has nearly always got me out of trouble.

If not drill the head of the cheese bolt and remove the aluminium cover. Then weld a nut onto the stud and remove with a socket or maybe enough purchase with molegrips.

All the For Sale ones are in the good ol USA and cheap other than postage.

I've got 4 spares; 2 from an M900 & 2 from an ST2 which are exactly the same part, although I couldn't say for sure if the 750 is the same?

Drill the head off with a reverse bit - the heat and direction of rotation may loosen it.
If lucky it might come out with the drilling. If not then Albie's suggestion.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I'll give them a try.
I have already chipped the casting so I do need a new cover. I may break the old cover to see if it exposes enough of the bolt head to use grips on. In fact, based on the other bolts, it seems to be the bolt head that is seized not the threads.

Happy to let you have one FOC, paint maybe a bit scabby but fully functional.

Quick update on the seized cap bolts. I bought some reverse drill bits ridiculously cheap on Ebay from China (£4, including postage). I wasn't expecting much for that price but they arrived in about 14 days and seem to be good quality. They did the business!! I had to drill the head off one, luckily the stud left turned easily. It seems with cap screws that dirt and rust seize the head solid in the hole. I cleaned the hole with a Dremel and used plenty of copper grease when putting new stainless bolts back. Thanks DrD.:hail:
