many people assume that monster headlamp fairings are all the same frpm M900 to end of the classic era in 2005 but thats not true , M900 screens may fit m750 M600 but they are completely different fitting on 2 clock models such as S4 etc mountings are not same and size is slightly different , so swopping my S4 screen onto my m750 did not work out ,,

the change occurs somewhere around 01 when the yokes changed.
the fairings also look quite different

I would guess that the change was for the 2000-on models.

My 2000 has the later type fairing and brackets, but I've never fitted it.

I'm not sure if a PO had it fitted incorrectly or what, but at some point it has put a couple of witness marks on the original instrument nacelle....All better now thanks to Darren69 supplying me with a, good as new nacelle.

If you are fitting one of these later types of fairing, make sure it can't contact the instrument pod.

depends... on when they ran out of older parts ;-)

.....Fair comment.

I would also hazard a guess that the change over coincided with the change to the oval type indicators mounted on the headlamp brackets. As the later fairing hooks into a grommet behind the indicator mount and also uses the two pairs of holes at the front of the top yoke that were previously used to mount the earlier square indicators.

Spot on Gazza! The new shape came with the Terblanche facelift models around '00-01.

You could probably fit a later one to an early bike and vice versa, but its not a straight swap over. There's a few other bits n bobs that you'll need or modify.

Thanks Darren.

I reckon that fitting a late fairing to and early bike would be easy, provided the later headlamp brackets were used too, so the indicators could move to the later position.
The fairing would have to have the late brackets too...Obviously.

I couldn't comment on fitting an early one to a late bike though...probably just a matter of fitting early headlamp brackets and finding the yoke brackets for the indicators.?

My M750 is a 2000 and has oval indicators same as later models but fairing from my 2001 S4 will not fit ,,,, bummer .i left the Puig one in thailand on the S4 as it did not flop about at speed ,much more rigid and it looks OK , but as the m750 is slower i thought the S4 one woul be ok but alas it disnae fit

My 750 is also a 2000 model, also has the oval indicators and also has the older type top yoke with mounting points for the square indicators.
Currently I have a homemade screen, crafted out of a broken screen.
This was cut down and mounted to the indicator mounting points on the top yoke via two, homemade ally side pieces.
Comme ca .......

Been using this for 5 or 6 yrs.
No vibration whatsoever.
It doesn't do a lot, but just enough to take off the worst of the blast if you crouch a bit when getting a move on.
