I've just seen that Ducati have 2 days organised this year. May 31st at Donington and June 16th at Silverstone. Both on the full circuits, in conjunction with the CSS.
Is this something we can get a group discount to? I quite fancy the Donington day as I've not ridden there for years. £175 and they throw in breakfast, lunch and a garage for groups of 10 or more.
So, who wants to join me at Donington?

If 11 registered club members are interested and book together they'll give us 10% off. ie buy 10, get one free. I've just received the press release, which I'll post here when I get a chance.

I might be up for the donny one.

What would Donny be like on a 600ss?

With the flowing nature of the track, Donington would be great fun and rewarding on any bike. Remember the scooter championship that was part of the BSB program years ago? Leon Haslam won that. 20hp on those things and they looked great fun.

You'll love it, off through Hollywood and down the Craner Curves before climbing (it's got proper gradients) up to the Old Hairpin (which isn't a hairpin at all) and then continuing to climb before it starts to level off a bit at McLeans (I've never been round it with the Melbourne Loop though so can't comment on that if they use it).

Looking back from Starkeys Bridge to the Old Hairpin and up to the Craner Curves with Hollywood being the right hander you can see in the far distance.

I think a 600ss would be great around there though- I love on my little 250 but then I'm out there with similar performance bikes (except the 350 Goldstars which are a fair bit faster).

As this is a Ducati trackday, I suspect there will be lots of fat old men, that are fast in a straight line, on Panigales. I ain't too worried about being under powered!

Nice bike, if you come to this, and I am there, and you fancy a swap for a session let me know!

(though don't you have the gears on the wrong side?)

Yes know that scenario- I've done a couple of trackdays on it and have had to go in the Inters (it's only around 28hp) and pass people on stupid fast stuff going into Paddock Hill only to have them zip past up the rise to Druids and then slam the brakes on!!!

Am doing my best to get it back together and sorted so it would be good to get it up there for a run out.

If I do you'd be more than welcome to run it round but yes the gear change is on 'the wrong side' and up side down (race pattern)...oh and it's got drum brakes and 90/90x18 tyres- it's a hoot to ride!!

Donnington would seem a lovely track on the few, wet, runs we did there last year on a No Limits Trackday. Pray for it to be dry.

As I remember they don't noise test there, because it's next to an airport anyway. There's a Travelodge &Premier Inn, in the services just down the road. It's 3 or 4 hours drive from central London.

The price seems good value as it's in conjunction with California Superbike School.

The day we were there was a highly unusual 108dB day J.P
The irony of East Midlands Airport being next door is lost on the NIMBYs

If there's a UKMOC group booking, I might be up for Donny too.
Can't commit to anything right now (cos I'm all spent out on stupidly expensive wheels) but I thought it worth flagging up my interest as part of a potential group booking.
I might be able to provide overnight sofa-bed accommodation in nearby Leicester too (you know who you are ... if in doubt, its a yes).

My suggestion would be that if you fancy doing any of the days, book it and see who follows.
The discount is always nice, but not getting a space because you were waiting can be worse.
