All real legend has been taken from us.

He personified Heavy Metal, lived the life, and won't be forgotten.

A very sad day indeed.

Yup absolutely gutted, I was meant to be going to see Motorhead at Hammersmith next month too... an original if ever there was one.

Second that.

First gig I ever went to ...Hammersmith late 1979... me and my ears have never been the same since.

Given the lifestyle he did well to get to 70 I guess.

I've seen Motorhead a few times over the years one memorable occasion was the Hammersmith odeon when Saxon were the support and Lemmy,Phil Taylor and Fast Eddie Clark came on stage naked with brooms sweeping Saxon off the stage.

I also see them local at the Cliffs Pavillion a smallish venue my ears were ringing for a week.

RIP Lemmy and Phil Taylor who recently passed as well you are legends who lived hard and fast.
