Hi All,

I've got a 900ie lump to go into my early carbed 900 this winter as rebuilding my existing engine just wasn't going to happen with the other costs like paint / powder coating added on top.

Will the ie lump fit straight in with no mods other than fitting my carbs or are there other parts required? I've got a JE 944 kit for the longer term but also have a light weight flywheel from my old engine I'd like to fit - will this go on or not?

Also got to get my yokes modded to take my 916 forks and the legs need anodising as they are looking tired so need to figure out who or where to get that done very soon.

Thanks,

Ben

Engine will bolt straight in as is the same shape and size

Yon need to change the flywheel and swap the ignition pick ups over to the ie, check your new lump to make sure the hole where the pick up wires pass through is drilled and tapped the last one were not and you will need to do this if you have a very late ie

I'm assuming your old motor is single phase alternator so that will not fit the ie, will need to buy one for a later carb model you will also need 3 phase reg / rec,

This is a carby flywheel and pick ups in a late 900ie lump, if you look where the wires go through the case you can just see the shiney plug i had to machine and tap as this was not done from the factory

Cheers bro! Will have a proper read when I get home.

PS had a look through whilst waiting for a client at work. The ally parts that you mention do you sell them? Looks like it would make my life a lot easier :)
