I've just had my brand new old stock panniers arrive today, all nicely wrapped in the box, all wrapped with all the labels.... no instructions though.

Can anyone send me a picture of exactly how and where the mounts fit on please? Just in case I do something particularly blonde and stick them on upside down.

I have the fitting instructions for the Monster City in my owners manual....Nearly sent them to you earlier but figured that your new panniers would come with instructions...Doh!

I will try and send them tonight if I am still awake after watching Lewis...otherwise it will be tomorrow evening....Bear with me.....

I finally fitted the pannier brackets last night, after Mr Gazza kindly scanned and sent me the instructions and diagrams. It looked a wee bit complicated for me, so I had to build up to it over the last couple of weeks, and buy a set of Allen Keys.

I was a bit nervous locking the bag on Edna this morning (I am a calamity), in case I lost all my worldly possessions, but no, everything stayed where it should do, the bag fitted on the brackets easily, the lock worked. Wish I'd bought them a year ago!

They are amazing, Davy I can see quite why you wouldn't part with yours, I can even manage trips to the supermarket with these, and not trying to fit gym gear, work gear and a massive bag full of make up into a backpack is utter bliss.

Now I might be able to actually do a few longer trips! Hooray! Thanks Davy for mentioning them to me before, I hope you are still enjoying yours!
And thanks again Mr Gazza for the instructions, I can imagine they'd still be in the box otherwise! :mand:

You're welcome....:mand:

I had been wondering how you were getting on with them. Thanks for the update.

Glad you like them.... Little bit jealous, as they were the original fitment panniers, to the Monster City.

Any chance of a picture?

I got them off Ebay, with a 20% off code so I paid about £124 plus postage, although they are back at £155ish just now, no import tax, absolutely brand new, still in Ducati Performance taped up box, I am so happy! :D The vendor was great, I bought them on the Thursday night, they arrived from California the Tuesday!

Mr Gazza, I'll take some pictures tomorrow, I got confused by the exploded parts diagram, as it looked like there were more bits than there actually were and some bits had already been assembled the factory. Once that clicked, it took about half an hour to fit the fixings, as getting the bolts in is a wee bit fiddly

The Mandarina Duck's are quite a neat fitment as long as the rear indicators are in their original location and it's also worth pointing out that they rely on using the original footrest hangers so cannot be fitted if you're using rear sets.

So for those of us that prefer our feet a little further back and higher up throw-overs are the way to go for those longer distance trips.

Yes, Edna is standard in that way, indicators are stock, no rearsets and no mods bar the low level Sil cans really, so I knew they'd be ok. I'm a shortarse so couldn't get my leg over the bike with a tailpack, and I did look at a tank bag, but I'm worried I wouldn't see over it...

The other bonus is I can just use one Mandarina bag for the gym, and I can fit everything in it, so I can still fit my lid, boots, jacket and trousers, and pannier in the locker there :D

There's a solution for everyone! ;)

Yes being able to use just one bag at times is a definite advantage of a rack mounted system.

You're right about the tank bag though, I have to make an effort to see the speedo when riding and don't stand a chance of seeing it when the bag is fully expanded but as it is a dedicated bag for the early Monsters I consider that my defence should ever I need it. :D

I'm only seeing this thread now. Ursa I'm sorry I backed out from selling but as you say they are a great bit of kit which I thought I would miss to much. Had I seen this earlier I would have sent you loads of fitting pics. Anyway glad you are sorted.

Davy, they are so great I don’t blame you for keeping them at all! Thanks for alerting me to them, I wouldn't have known otherwise! :D

I will try and send you the scans of the fitting instructions smiffy.
They are quite graphic, so you might be able to work out what the problem is..If any.

I'll dig them out and send tomorrow eve.

They fit perfectly on my 07 695, as long as you haven't got fancy rearsets, high mount exhausts, or have removed the grab rail, that's the only bits you need.

Once word of caution, the screw things that attach the low mounts beside the passenger footpegs are rubbish, I've tried a few different options from my tool box, I think I'm going to look at rigging up some contraption to make it stay put, as a few times I've lifted the bag off and the fitting has come away too. I'll probably get as technical as a cable tie or two :mand:

This page best displays how the fittings go on the bike.

I have 7 pages on the panniers in all, from my owners manual...Pm your email and I will shoot them over.

As Ursa says, they clamp on the grab rails and onto the heel guard of the pillion footrests, on the standard footrest hangers.
