Ducati Monster 1200 is £2500 cheaper here at £9000 for instance Monster 821 is £6500
Hondas are cheaper, KTMs and Triumphs ,etc etc etc

triumph 1200 xplorer is only £9000 Strret triple 675r is £5000!!!!!!!!! NEW !!!!!

petrol is 35p a litre , bike mags from UK only £1.75 not £4,30

Implies that we are either providing a subsidy for poorer places or that the profit margins are cut in poorer places... Means the margins here are fat however a dealer I know says margins are very slim and base costs from the suppliers are higher.
Usually you get the twaddle about import costs and taxes being lower.. US V's UK prices for the same items being a point in case where what seems to happen is that the currency symbols are changed.. $20 (£13) in the US and £20 ($30) here.

Of course, everyone does it, but is more to do with disposable income rates.and I don't think we are subsidising anyone. An interesting list was compiled few years back comparing the cost of a Big Mac* across the globe. The price list reflected almost exactly the average wage world ranking.

* do not eat McDonald, is sh*t ;)

The 'Big Mac Index'. Invented as half a joke by the Economist magazine to analyse currency rates. 'Burgernomics' has now become a regularly updated and useful global index tool. Funny ole world we live in! :spin:

down side is you would have to live in south Africa to take advantage of this, given the number of South Africans that have left to start new lives elsewhere this may or may not be an option

Glocks cost retail R8000 upwards depending on model, less on a street corner :)
