I've been looking to fit a dashcam to the Monster for a while. Today I've just been looking and experimenting for the best place to mount one. I bought a metal circular clamp but it is too big to clamp around the frame or handlebars as I had planned and this is the best I can up with for now:-

I'm not sure how good the images will be and due to the location the right 3rd is mostly the clutch resevoir other than that it looks like it will do the job. Not sure about vibration being an issue but as its's clamped to the handgrip it should already have some damping.

What is everyone else doing for these? Where are they mounted and by what means? Ideally I would like it on the tank top but I'm not sure about those sucker mounts, I think I'd be too worried about it flying off.

Thanks

I use the bar type clamp attached to the trellis frame at the front side....

Yep, only problem I've found is that picks up lots of engine noise and if not correctly positioned can either point up on acceleration and down on braking

I've found the 3M sticky pads to be secure enough. One on the headlight bracket works well (cowl may be in way if you are cowled up of course!)

If you use sticky pads I would also invest in a tether in case the camera breaks loose. GoPro do lots of accessories and they are cheap on Ebay:

You might even find some kind of camera mounting ready made.

The 3m pads are more than strong enough, doesn't need any tether.

I have used them on my track bike and they haven't bounced off at any point.

Also used them on surfboards without losing one.

I agree. I made a tether out of a lanyard I had hanging about but after a few rides it became clear that pad was one of the more firmly attached bits of my bike so I stopped using it.

That's just showing off!

And three times less likely that all suction cups will fail:D
