Been hoping parts will appear but they did not so started looking at alternatives.

Original idea was to take Monster 1100 (not 1100s) forks to my m900 and fit monoblocks.
But 1100 forks just do not appear for sale at normal price. At the same time not certain I like the monoblock look on old style Monster.

So as a result what are my alternatives?

I know Kato has some fancy 6 pot brakes fitted to his special monster, what are they?

What are the options for good 6 pot callipers to replace Brembo Goldline range?
Went on to google and type in 6 pot brake callipers and all I get are the callipers from old Kawasakis's Tayco or something to that affect.

Are they better, worse? If better is the calliper mount spacing the same (65mm) and disc offset?

You can actually buy a kit to convert 65mm mounts over to radials. I found them on eBay a while back from Australia.... 450 quid with new calipers if I remember correctly!

Tokico 6 pots are crap too by the way. Rebuilt a few sets for early gixxers and they're a bloody nightmare.

Ha just seen one from china. Would not get one from CHina but was thinking they must have copied from somewhere :)

Still thing is:

A) Will such adapter allow me to correct the calliper spacing?
B) Do I like monoblocks on old style monster.

Finally, the p4 brembos (new goldline with 4 pads) are better....

I don't see the issue with the gold lines though. Put a decent set of pads in and they stop just as well as my mates L1 gixxer

The kit I've seen was bolt on, so yes it simply bolts on and away you go

I think it'd look daft.

You could find some of the 40mm billet brembos which are from what I hear, amazing. Ducati sell an adapter (or I could get some made by a friend for you!)

I'd stick with Brembo, if you don't want radial then the 4-pad, 4-pot calipers are supposed to be very good.

I've got Brembo radials on both my Ducatis and I can't imagine brakes being any better - as much power and control as you like with just 2 fingers. :yoparty:

I have some goldine calipers for sale 916 style with 65mm spacing if you want or another alternative would be the p4 34's which I'm upgrading mine too from the 999/749 range, not radial but a little bit better and more progressive than the standard p30/34 that are standard.

Yep p4 34 is what I meant as the four pad type, they are supposed to be a lot more progressive and a little bit more powerful than the standard 2pad type. its a winter upgrade that I have planned.

P4 34 and a nice radial pump is all you'll ever need.

So P4 34 is the same as 749/999 had?

Pompone I actually have masters from 999 on bike so that bit is done just looking for a bit more bite in brakes.

Darren so then PM me with those P4 prices. :)

Slob thx, that is all I need.

I do not have an issue with Goldline as such but at higher speeds few times I did wish I had a bit more.

Especially in rain.

Only you would need more brakes in the rain! :mand:

My P4/34s aren't for sale the standard P4 goldline 2 pad type are but they are the same as what you have already I think? There are a few sets of P4/34 on ebay from 749/999 and Aprillia RSV

To cure this .........Stop using rubbish pads,

Use Carbone Lorraine http://www.carbonelorrainebraking.co.uk/
or
Performance Friction http://www.performancefriction.com/motorcycle-brakes.aspx

you will have more bite than you ever need

If you then still want more fit EBC GPFAX pads ......BUT be warned on road tires you WILL crash

If you are determined to go with 6pot you have 3 choices

NISSIN ......As fitted to MV Augusta early ones have 40mm mount and bolt straight to Monster forks later forks will need a custom mount

ISR Endurance ......I useis these Brakes they are brilliant but not cheap and firm is a real ball ache to deal with
http://www.isrbrakes.se/products/kits/

Berringer .....You will need a custom mount

GSXR1000K4 forks are supposed to be a straight fit in early monsters, the sizes are right, I'm not sure the caliper spacing is a straight fit with monster disk spacing.

Radial Nissins + Brembo pads = all you'll ever need.

You may also be able to pick up PFM or AP Racing 6 pots:-

A friend of mine fitted a pair of these to his 900ss track bike and said first time he tried them it was like hitting a brick wall! So you will probably only need one anyway?

I agree with Darren, my friend has PFM on is hayabusa and that's one heavy bike. And with brembo master cylinders the stoppage it amazing, I consider putting them on my monster but thought it might have been a bit overkill!
