As title says, most of my steels are great, but two are damaged. Anyone got a few sitting around? Used is fine as long as they're not gouged to Buggery

I don't have any myself but there are different types and thickness steel plates, some flat and some convex, some are 1.5, 2 and 2.5 mm, the clutch will probably still work with any but it may be better with the correct ones.

They very rarely wear out, or not as quickly as the friction plates. I've never had to replace any due to wear on my bikes. What is the problem with them? Warped?

Nope. I had two damaged friction plates that have scored the surface of two of them.... Not too bad, but I don't know what else to do

When I first got my bike some of mine had rusted where the engine had been stood with what I can only imagine was a about half an inch of water in the clutch housing. I cleaned them up with fine wet or dry but they were still pitted in a few places. They're still in there working fine.

So using a flattening stone on them will be fine? Cool! Thanks for your help dude

I'd just make sure you gently remove only the peaks and not worry too much about the troughs. You don't want a part of the plate that is any thinner or thicker otherwise it will grab and generally be nasty. As mine were the same thickness plates I was able to shuffle them into the pack so they were not adjacent to each other, I don't know if that would have made a difference but they were right at the back and now they are more in the centre with good ones in between.

It should hopefully get you by until you get some replacements. I think you can order individual plates from Ducati, iirc the alloy frictions are £16 each so the plains will probably be around the same I imagine.

I got plenty me thinks. Stripped 3 engines all with clutches so they are bound to be about.
Will look in garage over weekend. If I find them you cna have them

There you go, Lukasz will sort you out. Just be aware if you go to a dealer for clutch service work they will probably tell you they threw your old plates in the trash but more likely they are in someones race bike :)
