Just cleaned off my new S2R after a ride out and saw this ,my first reaction was f**k someone has had a chain through here and botched it up. Then I poked it and it seems to be a really crappy casting. Anyone else got a factory botch up ?http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff171/gasaxephoto/IMG_0514%20Ducati%20crankcase.jpg (http://s241.photobucket.com/user/gasaxephoto/media/IMG_0514%20Ducati%20crankcase.jpg.html)

I think its Ducati famous flaky paint? I saw at least one bike at the factory in the end of production (1098 SBK I think) with newspaper masking up and red paint rattle can sprayed on it because it had been scratched or marked during assembly. Maybe I'm being too critical but that bike should have been rejected.

And your baboon was better trained than my baboon. You should be grateful there's some paint left on there. Mine appears to be done in watercolour over a basecoat of olive oil....

My GT1000 was identical, that was on 06, looked like it was covered in paper then sprayed. Baboons indeed.

Well trained ones though! :) And in some instances ridden by them too?
