Its been around seven weeks since my old M900 was totaled . For the last couple of weeks my injured ankle has been good enough to change gear,so I was itching to ride.
Yesterday I took delivery of a 2006 S2R 1000 and I am very happy now.
No more snatchy throttle,I love it, thirty mph in town,no problem.
I don't usually like vehicle electronics but the servo start ( if it doesn't f**k up ) is ace.
Full service history,14,000 miles ,looks almost new, even the white wheels are growing on me.http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff171/gasaxephoto/IMG_0497%20Ducati%20S2R.jpg (http://s241.photobucket.com/user/gasaxephoto/media/IMG_0497%20Ducati%20S2R.jpg.html)

Get it mapped and you'll have one of the best motors ever, DS's are bloody great!

If its sweet at 30mph with that full Termi it may have already been mapped? Those 5 spoke white wheels are nice but a bitch to keep clean :(

Glad it all worked out in the end. Black wheels would be easier to live with.

First ride out yesterday,I could taste the bloody induction roar ,horrendous.I fitted the airbox lid off my old bike , and now its bearable.I did another 40 odd miles this afternoon ,opened it up ,saw 140 on the clock ( on a bit of old airfield) checked the front plug for colour because I thought that the full airbox lid might make it rich, but it was a bit on the dark /mid grey.I suspect that the ecu is standard. Is there any identification on a ecu that has been supplied with a termi ?

From my experience they usually have a red DP sticker with a part number barcode and a cryptic description the regular ones are black and white. Of course its possible to flash whatever map you want onto a regular or DP ecu they're essentially the same part.

I'm really pleased that you like it....Sounds like a rocket ship.

My 750SS had white wheels....All part of the classic package with a '91 model..

They were a little bit tatty when I first got it, but I used White T-Cut Colour-fast to clean, and White Turtle wax Colour magic afterwards. They both have a White stain in them and the wheels just got better and better over time....Looks like you have pretty easy access to at least one side of the back wheel.

Enjoy.

I love the induction roar of the open airbox, and combined with my Arrows exhaust it's like riding a Ducati philharmonic orchestra! But quite noisy, as my MOT tester insists on commenting every year. Boring git.

Coincidentally on my local 'airfield' I also see an indicated 140, but I'm convinced there's a little more.... :look:

My MOT tester has a 996 Foggy so he's like, sounds nice - pass! Oh and btw next time cover those stamps on the exhaust.

Great that you're sorted again and almost fully mended. I know it's a Marmite thing but I'm on the yes side regarding the white rims..

Yep. like that a lot too and agree the 1000DS motor is a flyer (although not quite as good as a carby 900) but you need to keep the induction noise of an open airbox along with an open clutch cover to finish off the full Ducati orchestra.

My MoT tester laughs that my clutch is louder at tick over than the FBF open pipes that are fitted and has passed it for the last fifteen years without a problem.
