Sunday September 6th. 12 Noon.

Walker's Café, Mildenhall. IP28 6AE.

https://goo.gl/maps/8xZdA

As before..http://www.ukmonster.co.uk/monster/showthread.php?t=52049

I was really chuffed at the way this turned out last time. It's just too geographically perfect to resist.

Lots of folk messaged me saying they were sorry to miss it for one reason or other...so here's a second bite of the cherry.

Happy to go with conspiritors ideas to bring actual Teddy Bears....Make of it what you will...:D

....There will be cake..

At the moment I'm not sure whether I'll be in the UK or not. The pic-a-nic will be a nice consolation if I'm not :)

We picked an auspicious date to pop out on! All the best people were born on 8th September :D

Hope you can make the run! Bearthday cake all round! :D

Yay! Welcome along.

September is getting busy, but there is still plenty of time for folk to book this into thier diaries.

Great place to meet Monsters from Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgshire, Bedfordshire and also very popular with the London crowd...

Within striking distance of kent and Leicestershire as well..:chuckle:

StevieL has this 70's Laverda Ad on his workshop wall.
He sent it to me as a wonderful bump opportunity for this thread...The connection being the Teddy Bear.

Just to remind you that it really is still 2015 and this ad was for real.!!

Bad and good news, Edna has blown a fork seal, and I can't get her fixed until next week, good news is I can pillion on my mate's Fireblade if that's OK? I will bring an extra bear to compensate

Mr Gazza
05-09-2015, 05:18 PM
Oh no! Poor Edna.

If I was only allowed one guess as to whose 'Blade it is...Would I be right?

Did you hear about the Eskimo who took his snow mobile into the garage?
The mechanic said "I think you've blown a seal"
He replied..."Oh no, it's just a bit of dry skin on my cheek"

Ursa
05-09-2015, 05:33 PM
Lol no it's not who you think! :mand:

Been advised not to ride Edna as it feels like there is no oil left and she's making a terrible wheezy clunk noise.

Ursa

Dirty and I are meeting at the tea hut opposite Whipps Cross hospital at 11am if any other London area peeps are coming.

Mr Gazza

oh dear, not so dry clutch conversion?

or engine breather?

Dirty
06-09-2015, 04:46 PM
Presuming it was main oil seal which was leaking after the tunnel run heat and got replaced soon after but until I strip it I don't know for sure.

Nothing much on the right side of the engine was dry, it went in quite spectacular fashion at some speed :mand:

Dirty
06-09-2015, 04:50 PM
And I knew nothing about it at the time. If it wasn't for Ursa's friend seeing the large smoke cloud and stopping the first I'd have know would have been the engine detonating or the bike disappearing from under me as I turned a fast right. Quite possibly saved my life, definitely saved my bike!

Dirty
06-09-2015, 04:54 PM
But the trick in life is always look for the upside!

Ursa
06-09-2015, 06:22 PM
Yeah it was spectacular, Zoe spotted it in her mirrors, and flagged Dirty down, and as soon as the bike stopped there was a big puddle of oil.

At least we brought you cake Dirty, and held an annexe meeting at the side of the road!

And of course Zoe kindly ferried me there and back after Edna's fork seal went too.

Great run out and a nice meeting! And an impressive selection of bears too. :mand:

What a fantastic meet again!...Great weather, what a surprise..:woot:

Just to prove that we had Gingham, Cake and bears.

http://i59.tinypic.com/abrwvr.jpg

Old freinds and new faces all together in the Sun having fun:thumbsup:

http://i59.tinypic.com/f72ur.jpg

I'll try and remember whose bikes these are from the front to the back.
Brin's all carbon 1100.
Rocker66's M900Sie.
Creamy Sapone's S4.
Capo's S4.
My M900Sie.
DirtyDodger's 696?
Zoe's 'Blade...Naughty, but nice.
Hit and Miss's '96 M900....With Bear clinging to the tank..
Dac's M750
Utopia's M750

...And I must have missed some? but we also had an ST4 and a couple of other Ducatis arrived when Zoe, Ursa, Sapone and I chased off down the A11 to take Dirty some cake.

So rude of me to leave the party and sorry that so many had left before I got back. But the thought of him all on his lonesome by the side of the road was too much.

Happily most of the Norfolk Tricolore cake had been demolished when we returned, and we got to enjoy some of Jeff's delicious Italian tea cakes.

Brilliant to see everybody and thanks for a great day out.....The Picnic will return..

Dirty

Oh mate that's another engine out job. Still you can sort soon. Hopefully done no damage.

Don't need to take the engine out if it's the clutch seal. I would like to know why it blew though.

Yeah it was spectacular, Zoe spotted it in her mirrors, and flagged Dirty down, and as soon as the bike stopped there was a big puddle of oil.

At least we brought you cake Dirty, and held an annexe meeting at the side of the road!

Thank Zoe again for me, and thanks for the cake, I was starving!

I'd definitely be fitting a hugger too if I were you ! Lucky, very lucky.

Nah, A hugger would have just been another part I need to clean oil off!

Dirty....I think you've blown a Seal.;)

You had to didn't you!

Messy, I hope you put plenty of concrete dust down :)

I knew there was something else I should add to my little tool kit! :chuckle: Most of the oil dumped off the road luckily. If there was any on the A11 neither I nor the recovery man seemed too keen to walk against the traffic to look for it!

let me know if i can help... after belgium ;-)

Cheers. Probably gonna leave it til after my holiday now.

What a fantastic meet again!...Great weather, what a surprise..:woot:
.

looks like another great success Gazza, well done :) and thanks for popping down to see me. Only took 7 hours to be recovered home in the end!!!!

Am not sure the pics will work, am new to the dark arts of putting pics on here, there's the cake annexe meeting at the side of the road, with Dirty getting his birthday cable from Mr Gazza, and the selection of bears. I can't seem to get the pic of Dirty's incontinent bike to load.

Ursa

Oh and I forgot to say I have temporary custody of Dirty's bear, Ted Biker, who is currently hanging out with Stefan Bradl's Beaver.
Dirty says he doesn't want him back, and I am at "peak bear" in my flat! :D

With the exception of Dirty's clutch episode, I had a grand day.
It began with the realisation that the setup of the remote preload adjuster on my Nitron shock was just about perfect since, with a lightish pillion on board and about 80% of extra preload, the bike handled just as instinctively as it does solo.
Also, I've been tending to go just a tad too quickly lately, and it can spoil a nice ride. This time I pegged it back just a fraction and had a much more pleasant ride (though still quick at times).
Had to pull over fairly early as we passed a gorgeous, Baines Special 750, stopped and run out of fuel at the side of the road. This bike was bloody luverly. kinda reminiscent of the old 750S bevel twins of the 70s, which were the inspiration for my monster obsession. I exchanged details with the owner, lest he should think of selling it (which he said he might).
The weather was beautiful and the roads were minor ....heaven.
Gazza,s tricolore cake was very fine, and I think the Italian Cream Teas (mascarpone instead of clotted cream) worked ok too.....I could make a habit of those.
Company was excellent, with old acquaintances furthered and new ones made.
And a ride home into the sun, setting orange over the fens.

Thanks for organising, Gazza.
A very pleasant day.
