Hey guys,

I recently fitted a pair of knock off rizoma fluid reservioirs, and the hose they supplied was ****e.... It wouldn't bend without pinching. Went to my local bike shop and asked for advice and the guy (who was very helpful!) reccomended a clear, wire lined hose. I bought some and fitted it. Loved the clear look and it went around the bend I needed it to..... But. Just gone out to the bike (not been ridden or looked at in a week!) and the clutch side hose has gone cloudy, and there is definite weepage through that hose. But only the clutch side? Anyway, here are some pics.

As you can see, the clutch side has definitely gone cloudy.....

Can anyone recommend hose that won't do this, that will conform to that curve? I've thought of silicone fuel hose, but I'm assuming brake fluid will eat it....

Thanks! Joe

At some stage I intend to fit rizoma pots to my Sportclassic, they've been in a drawer all year but I tagged this stuff

intending to get some at some stage.
There's also a greenish tubing but I cant seem to find that now.

Hadn't seen the spring lined tubing before, but I dont pay a huge amount of attention to these things.

I used some of that Tygon stuff to.

Found it couldn't go round a tight bend though. It just collapsed.

That's as tight as I could get it, without it collapsing. So I ended up using the brembo black stuff.

Do you still have some? If so, wanna get rid? :)

The clutch fluid is notorious for going black quickly for some reason. I reckon it's probably that because it's the same fluid both side. The weapage is probably just a lickle leak.

Dunno if silicone is brake fluid friendly but DrD posted this link yesterday http://www.autosiliconehoses.com/silicone-hose-shop/performance-silicone-hoses/wire-reinforced-silicone-hoses.html

It's actually discoloured the hose.... It seems to be holding moisture in the hose itself

Yeah its probably the crap in the fluid attracted to the hose material

Unless you actually want clear hose why not buy this?

Tygon works fine although, as mentioned above, it doesn't do tight bends without collapsing.

Other than the 'bling' it is good for seeing that the tubing is clear of bubbles etc.

You could always use the plain, clear hose and shove a length of spring (stainless) inside it to stop it collapsing.
Ok, it'll slow the flow somewhat but that shouldn't be a problem as its only the top-up line and hardly flows anything at all anyway.
Downside might be that it will probably tend to "hang on" to any air bubbles ...though once again, this probably won't matter as its only in the top-up line.

Me, I like my coffin masters, with no tube whatsoever.

I've used clear before and found that it eventually discolours and goes brittle. Brembo is the best stuff imho and UV light degrades brake fluid anyway so why would you want clear, form over function?

What I'd like is clear coffin masters, with one of those little divers that a stream of bubbles emanates from, and a couple of fish too :)

You'd be wanting some colour changing LEDS too then I expect ;)

There is great potential in this ... possibly madness

Utopia what about a small shoal of whitebait, add a heater and you'd have nibbles on the move.. maybe a small cod on the clutch side and chips on the brake side.

Yep a definite winner there .. whens the next dragons den series start??
