Hi to everybody

Just thought I would say a quick hello to you all. I have just recently purchased one of my dream bikes. I now own a 1993 monster m900s and very pleased with her. She is going to need some work and tlc but that shouldn't be a problem.

Another 93! These guys know their stuff about the early bikes and a few pics would be nice.

Blimey another. Yes post pics and questions and be prepared to learn and cry when you find out a parts not available or wrong depending of course if you want to restore or customise.

There is a lot to learn even if you have had 4 in 12 years.

Hi there: a fine choice if I may say so.

Like they said, photo's needed and what are your plans: customise, restore, or just enjoy the ride?

Thanks for the welcome guys and as soon as I work out how to resize a picture to work on the format then you will have a picture. I plan to tidy the old girl up a bit and powder coat the frame and try and find a nice set of termis which seems to be as rare as rocking horse sh!t. And some carbon bits may not go amiss.

Termis seem to come up occasionly and a set on ebay few weeks ago I was watching only and were at £104 with 2 days to go. I never saw last price but could look.

I wouldn't mind a set but I am putting back to as was boringly ;). I am looking into a good colour match powdercoat rather than the paint which can be £160 a litre but options open but have a swatch that I put against a frame and is very very close and Al at proteam ducati agreed.

I don't want to do too much to her as she is quite nice the way she is to be honest but I guess everybody likes to put their mark on their own machines and its down to preference. I cant attach a photo even after resizing so not sure what going on there but I have managed to attach it as my avatar for some reason and yes it has been chopped at the rear and I do like the way it looks

Chopped, or more accurately, 'correctly finished' ;)

Forum pics don't work so use postimage.org. It will resize them for you as well. It's very simple and intuitive. Just upload the photo you want then copy the 'direct link'. Come back here, click the little yellow square -> http://s28.postimg.org/yhfpnnpt5/yellow_mountain.jpg above the text box and paste the link in the box. Job done

Yes loads. If I can work out how to send a book marks folder you'll have a few hours of browsing ahead!

Welcome and congrats on your quality purchase decision. Also being another member to boost the North of Scotland element. S-D are a great company to deal with and i can't believe how they deliver up here at the prices they charge? Rip-off south of the border companies could take a large leaf out of their books..

I think unless the frame is really scabby I would be a bit more sympathetic with a '93 bike, as like Albie says it is a proper nightmare trying to get the paint an exact match and as much as I think bikes should be ridden and not kept for investment etc. they are only original once and I would rather see an original bike showing a little age than one completely restored unless it was necessary to begin with.
