View Full Version : Bursts of air hitting my left calf when riding slow

So I went for a 2 hour ride yesterday and by the end, at slow speeds in first, revs below 4,000, blasts of air started occasionally hitting my left calf along with more than usual popping from the engine.

I've not ran the bike on its stand yet, but from the direction of the bursts, it looks like it could be coming from the top cylinders exhaust manifold.

There's no loss of power as you'd expect with an exhaust blowing & no change in engine note.

Any of you guys had this?

Yep. Same issue. I had a snapped stud that needed replacing :)

A magna farter? Na, pants were fine, bursts of air considerably less sulphurous . Definitely a bike issue :D

Cheers mate, hope it's just that. Bike is garaged at the minute so will check in the morning :)

Actually decided to get the bike out & started it up. Exhaust bolts are fine, but it did the bursts of air a few times at 3,000 revs, so at least it's repeatable. Will video it tomorrow so you can hear it & I'll take it to the mechanics, too.

On mine the flange type things in the exhaust where hair thin even though they should be almost three mm thick. The bolts looked fine but there was much popping and banging.
