After 6000 or so novice miles I'm getting fed up with the bouncy rear end of my M750 (2001). As a 12K service is getting underway I want to tackle firming up that rear end now. Looking at the suspension it appears that the preload(?) is well screwed down - at the top of the spring.
Is it rebound that I should be adjusting? Is there some FAQ guidence about this on the site?
Have a look at this site or do a Net search. There's plenty of info out there.

If it is bouncing you need more rebound damping (not sure if this is adjustable on all shocks). If you want to increase the rear height you need more pre-load. I you want to stiffen the suspension up you need more compression damping and if you are heavy (over 14 stone I guess) you may need a stiffer spring.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the replies on suspension. Found some stuff on the net and I am starting to get my head around it.
