can anyone recommend a heat proof lacquer that will stay on my carbon cans, they are in need of a tidy up?

You could try some VHT clear engine lacquer...Such as this;

I would be tempted to use ordinary clear lacquer such as Upol. I am sure it would stand more heat that you think...But probably not worth the risk?

John Woolfe Racing are stockists of VHT paints, so maybe they could advise.

Just bought some Motip HT Klarlack (800 degrees) for the same job.

I'll report back in a couple of days to let you know how its gone.

I did mine a month ago with normal laquer, and 1000 miles later looks as good as it did the day I did it
