I'm looking to get myself one of these specifically for the job of replacing the forks and shock on my evo and the 696. Will the Skylift make this job significantly easier or is the basic stand plus front raise bar more than adequate?

if you can afford a skylift buy it,
its works in exactly the same way as standard abba stand (with front lift arm kit) except skylight can raise the bike to a more comfortable working height

the basic abbas stand is great, but working close to the ground for lengthy periods is not comfortable,

nb: if you and have the means and space you can cheaply build a fixed elevated work platform/bench and use with the standard abba stand

if you are on a budget, you also don't need the front lift arm to remove forks (although it is very tidy) you can also use the basic abba stand and some ratchet straps from the rafters or an a frame to lift the front of the bike
