Ouch. Sorry for your loss.
There's a nice M900 for sale in the Forum at the moment if you want a whole bike.

Horse door stable bolted comes to mind but invest in a case saver when you sort out a new engine.

Got me worried now - does anyone know a supplier of case savers, specifically for an early M600? Couldn't find one on Ebay.

Pretty sure I saw them for sale at Cornerspeed; http://cornerspeed.co.uk/ when I was last in there. Not sure if for all models but should be local enough for you.

Thanks - very helpful

Forgot to add / ask - is the 900SS engine the same as the fitted to a Monster of the same year? I always thought that the gear ratios were different but might have totally dreamt this fact up....

Hah! I see you were offered the same engine he try to flog me. Looked OK superficially.

Sorry I can't answer your question about gear ratios.

Probably! A 900SS engine of 93 vintage for sensible money. Turns out a friend might know his business partner so might be able to vouch for him.

Seems like an OK guy and yes his business partner is a genuine bloke and bike rider.

I'm sure they're the same, in fact if it's a later model then the SS is a better engine as '97 on (IIRC) 900 Monsters got a detuned version due to the fitting of more restrictive 750 type heads/cams.

The pukka 900 heads are marked 'V2' whilst the detuned version is marked 'W'.

Thanks but I've already got a complete engine in bits but with rusty bearings through out so only considered buying another engine as it would be a quick fix and give me plenty of time to build mine up as a 944 with replated barrels and a balanced crankshaft etc.
