Paint stripper on break disks

The donut who owned the bike before me painted the brake disks yellow. Can you use paint stripper on the discs or wi that damage them?

I would use a solvent base stripper as apposed to a caustic solution, especially if the centres are aluminium.

Would they not be made from one piece of steel, Alu would be soft even in the middle of the discs!

Solvent it is then! Can that be used to take the paint off the tank as well? Any brand recommendations

Should do it on the tank too, depends if they used fuel proof lacquer which is a little tougher.
