My friend dropped his Triumph Rocket III at very low speed and has damaged two of his three open exhaust cans. He is struggling to find someone who can repair them. Unfortunately they are not a part that Triumph sell anymore so he can't get replacements.
One can has some scratches that go through the chrome, so they need rubbing down and then re-chroming. The other has similar, but the impact with the ground has also caused a flat spot in the round can where the scratches are. Obviously this needs the dent taken out, the scratches removed and then re-chroming. It is only minor damage, but his bike is pristine so it must be repaired as far as he is concerned. For now he has had to put the standard cans back on and remap the ECU for them which doesn't make him a happy man. Previously decatted and with open pipes he had the ECU mapped for unbridled naughtiness.
Obviously he would not have had a problem if he had been riding a Monster and maybe I'll eventually persuade him that a Monster is what he really wants to be riding, but in the meantime can anyone suggest someone in the south of England (my friend lives in Horsham) who can repair his cans?
