Hi,
I have a pair of ex-DD Dunlop Qualifiers for sale that will fit most monsters.

120/70 front with 4-4.2mm of tread and 160/60 rear with over 5mm of tread.

Great in the dry, and pretty good in the wet too.

£70 - collection only from Alton/Winchester area.

Thanks for looking

Paul

Bump. Another pair now available!

These would suit me down to the ground (sorry, accidental pun) but they're too far away to collect on a special trip (which would be on the bike) and I have no immediate plans to get down your neck of the woods in the near future.
I only mention it in case you might happen to be passing Leicester anytime over the next few weeks to drop them off (though sorry, I know that's a bit cheeky, but if you don't ask ......).
They would be particularly handy as not only is my rear PR2 now 7 or 8000 miles old with TWO puncture repairs , but also I fancy swapping from 120/60 to 120/70 on the front in the hope of better turning characteristics. In the context, £70 would be a snip.
Anyway, excuse my rambling.
At least it will bump the thread though.
And you never know, maybe there's a way to arrange this after all.

hermes will deliver 3 tyres for a tenner.

As long as it's under 15kg in total.

I sent some recently and just taped them together, put a couple of black bin backs round the lot and stuck the label on.

+1 Myhermes and Collect+ are excellent delivery services. Beat the PO hands down most times.

Ok, I have tape and bin bags and have a Hermes pickup point not too far away so could do them for £80 shipped? Or if you are anywhere near Snetterton on Bank Holiday weekend you could watch me making some more and save on the postage!!

I did wonder about Snetterton actually, but I have a million other bookings that weekend, inc Bike Shed Show, Donington WSB, East Kirkby, a gig to do and another to go to, etc.
But if you can be bothered to pack em up, then £80 posted is a deal.
Could I ask that we delay the deal for a week though, just to make sure that my bank account stays solvent ?
If you can do paypal, and pm me your details, I could transfer funds asap and you could send the tyres thereafter, perhaps ?

Excellent.
I get to try the sort of sticky rubber that I always tend to avoid in favour of something more "all-round", and test the higher front profile too, all through the summer, for only £70, with a new set of PR4s in the autumn.
Unless of course I really like these, in which case you might even have yourself a regular customer. :mand:
.....and the bike's a keeper.

So...
It seemed rude to ask before but now that I've bought these, in your opinion, what kind of wear/degradation will they have experienced ?
I mean, you obviously don't consider them ideal for racing anymore.
But in terms of tread depth at least, they have nearly double what's left on my current, ageing PR2s.
Is it just that they have lost the best of their profile, or will they have worn asymmetric, or degraded the compound and lost a little of their stickiness perhaps ?
Just curious really.

ps. Thanks for the info, Dan.

IMHO they are still fine for racing - just they've been superseded this year with the latest pattern Qualifiers so I can't use them any more. They've done one race meeting in 2014 and one test day this year so they havent gone far enough to wear unevenly!
Some people were changing their tyres every meeting and others were doing half a season on a set, so degradation tended to be in the mind or the wallet.....

We've used Pirelli Diablos, Diablo Rossos and the Dunlops over the years and I personally think that the Dunlops have been the best.

I will pack the tyres up and PM you my details. Cheers, Paul

Well, today I picked up a nail in my ageing rear PR2.
That will be its third repair.
So I guess I need to send you the cash for these tyres asap now.
Could you pm me your details and I'll paypal you and send my address.

PM sent.

Oh, and I have another pair available now if anyone needs some? Today they are mainly being in the Snetterton area, then will be in Hampshire!

Cheers, Paul

My tyres arrived today and I'm well pleased with them.
Haven't actually fitted them yet but they're in far better nick then the bedraggled set I am currently using.
In fact, next to my old tyres, the tread depth and profile on these look like new.
Sticky qualifying rubber for the summer too.
I'm a happy customer.
....hence this bump for the remaining pair.
