Headlight assembly

Has anyone ever taken their headlight apart and managed to get it back together again, more successfully than I have??

I took it apart to get rid of the misting on the inner surface of the glass but cant get it to go back together again now. Stupidly I didn't bother to take any photos. I thought that I had put the spring retaining clips all back in again correctly but they all ping out when I try to put the black rear part of the light back on....hope that makes sense.

Any tips would be most appreciated as its driving me mental, either that or some photos of how the clips should look.

Start at the bottom and follow them around..... They don't mirror each other. One side point up, and the other down.... That confused me at first
