Any advice, I can turn it round but it's heavily resisting removal!

Brake caliper mount locating lug?

Have you removed the bolt from the inside? If so then it should pull out easily or tap out from the inside with a little persuasion.

Yep, caliper lug. The hex bolt will turn but the lug turns with it. I just wanted to check before I gave it maximum force :)

I'm not so sure that it is supposed to come off.

I'm powder coating the arm. No reason not to coat the lug as well but I figured if it comes off why not take it off.

Best have it out for powder coating....Very unproffesional to coat over fasteners in my opinion.

The coating will be thick and the lug probably won't fit it's slot in the hanger without trimming it off...Besides, you need to be able to get it out easily later on when all your floating brake fittings come..:mand:

If you can get it out you will then need to mask the hole before blasting and coating, or you won't be getting it back in.!

Same goes for the bores for the swinging arm pivot pin. I used body washers each side of the holes with a bolt through to hold them in place...sacrificial bolts in the pinch bolt holes too to protect the threads...and the same goes for all the threaded holes.

I used a lot of gutter bolts in the M6 threads, but some of them did prove to be a bit tricky to get out again with all the coating in the slots....So a hex head and washer probably better?

I just want to get the lug out. I'm leaving the powder coater to mask off the holes.

If it won't come out then come floating calliper time a hacksaw will do the trick. That won't be for a while though as I'm getting the under slung bracket coated as well.

Well done.!
Better out than in, as they say..:didge:

Now you can put a nice shiney new bolt in when it all goes back together..
