Yeah, very cool. air cooled? now why would they invest all that time and money into dead technology? Can't help but think that there is now even more tech to go wrong. Although it's good to see that Audi are throwing plenty of cash into R&D.

Love this kind of stuff, fantastic to see what makes these bikes tick.

Yea, and there's me thinking DVT is something to do with Deep Vein Thrombosis! Shows what I know :)

Hope it is turns out more reliable than the ones on my old Alfa 916 T-spark
- cam variators are pain when they start going wrong!

I love it when Ducati come up with radical new developments like this.
I remain blown away by the Panigale, from the radical frame concept to the ultra short stroke motor.
And now this.
Are there no limits to how far you can push a 90deg twin, if you have the passion to do so ?
And so begins yet another new chapter.

Would I want it myself ?
Definitely not.
Its extra complication to gain power that I don't need.
The low down smoothness and torque would be more desirable, but still not worth the hassle for me, personally.
But I'm still very glad that Ducati have developed it.

In an ideal world, I would like to think that Ducati would be able to continue to pursue both avenues, by retaining an air-cooled production line while continuing to push the boundaries with the superbike motors.
And I still haven't given up hope that they will do exactly that.

On the whole, as a company in the marketplace, I think Ducati have done pretty damn well over the last few years.
Maybe not always to my own personal tastes, but they certainly mean business, in every sense.

Variable valve timing has been around for quite some time now, maybe not on a twin cylinder bike engine. It does look good though even so.

Yep, you should have seen the reaction that got when I said something similar on DOC :)
