recently one of my friends have been involved in a bizarre Smidsey

1st accident was in Brighton last week , he was leaving work on a bandit 1200 and riding along london road when a white van suddenly slammed on his brakes and then reversed into him at about 20mph in the main carriageway my friend stopped and franticly blasted his horn and jumped for his life but bike was trashed and van driver said be did not see my friend , reason for sudden stop and reverse was that delivery was 200m back down the road???, sussex police not intererested but van drivers company paying out !

Bizarre yes.

But Smidsey is not a word i have come across.....The phrase " Bandits at 6 oclock" springs to mind..

SMIDSY, Sorry Mate I Didn't See You.

How the hell can the police do nothing if the van driver admitted responsibility!
Craziness!

Seems like a crystal clear case of undue care and attention.
And presumably this was by someone who drives a van for a living....ie a "professional".
Then again, I've seen plenty of "professional" drivers (lorries, taxis......) who's driving is abysmal.
In fact some of them seem to see their professional status as an excuse for taking liberties.
