Just found out about the very first Reepham Classic show.

I've been in touch with the organisers, and they are keen to have some Monsters there (And other Ducatis).

The show is to take place in Reepham Market place, which is to be closed off for the day.
Cars, Bikes and military vehicles will be on show and there will be various stalls.

It's all very new and I'm still finding out about it.....Are we up for it?

They want me to let them know how many are going about a week before. So if you could declare your interest with year and model of you bike I would be grateful.

....Sounds like a larf..:D............

Hey Grumpy that would be great.

I think they are theming the machines in chronological order. So it would be cool if we could get an early model (Stu, Crazyduck?) with myself and Stevie somewhere in the middle at 2000 and 2001, and then your up to the minute current Monster. (and a 900SS for good measure..;))

I assume that we don't pay if we display, but info is sparse. There is no web site for the event, just pdf's from Parish magazines..!!. So I will post up what I can find out.

They want us to be there no later that 10am, doors open to the public at 11am.

V's Cafe will be open in the Market Place from 8am.

Fingers crossed for the weather on the last weekend of September...

Working on getting a reg / rec issue sorted, might stop me getting arrested! If I can I'll be there.

Sorry to hear about the fry up Stu..!

I have an alternator cover puller, a soldering iron, bags of heat shrink, a multi meter and other stuff from 40 years of fannying around with motorbikes. However I am sadly lacking in spare Reg/Rec's...Think I may have a nice waterproof three pin connector though.

If I have anything that is of any use to you, shout and I'll be there.

That's a new one, there is a charity show at the old Colt Camp appealing for owners clubs ....

Thanks for the heads up emzedder. Both on the 28th!!

I am inclined to support my local show, and at least see what it's all about, being the first one.

There is nothing to stop us riding over to Coltishal after lunch if it turns out to be a damp squib in Reepham...My attention span tends to be a bit on the short side at these things anyway.

Will we see you at Reepham?

Provisionally planned something else on that day buy maybe. Got to support your local event.

Hope some of you can make it, as I've reserved places for four bikes.

The organising chappie was delighted that we could present a sort of potted history of the model from an earlyish example through to the current model.

I can't imagine that the show will be oversubscribed, so if we can get some more folk along that would be good. You will be made welcome.

Entry is free for all. There will be collections for the charity NABB, the Nationwide Association of Blood Bikes. They do a splendid job of ferrying blood from blood banks to Hospitals all over Britain. A chum of mine is an active member, and told me that they save the NHS enough dough in Norfolk to employ an extra Nurse. :hail:

Aim for Reepham Market Place no later than 10am and ask for Brian, who is apparently in charge of bikes....Make sure you tell him you are with UKMOC...:mand:

Much to my suprise the first Reepham Classic festival was quite a success.

Great to see WayneO and Grumpy. Together we made a chronological display of the Monster's development to the present day.
The Monsters recieced some very approving interest from the public until a pristine Norton P11 turned up and stole the show.

Interesting that this factory hybrid from Norton and Matchless parts has been further hybridized by it's owner, and now has a late 750 Commando engine with electric start.
Note that he has removed the kickstart.

It was a nice show with some very interesting exibits, a nice atmosphere and splendid weather for late September.

We trundled over to Coltishal later, and I have to admit that it wasn't so good as Reepham, but the ex RAF base kindled some old memories, and after all a ride out with fellow Monster owners is always a pleasure....Thanks for a great day out Guys...Hope you had a safe ride home..

Yeah, Grumps always does that funny little dance when he sees an E Type :)

Distinct lack of wheelie bins at the show I notice :mand:

It wasn't the E-Types, he was like the dancing priest from father Ted all day...:chuckle:

I was so discusted at the lack of wheelie bins that I will be writing to my MP....Or the lead singer of Echo and The Bunnymen.

I've just heard back from the show chappie..

"Hi Gary

I'm so pleased you and your friends enjoyed the event. It really does make such a difference to get feedback like this and really encourages us to plan another one for next year.

Regarding the bins, you are absolutely right and that will be corrected next year.

As for the weather, I'm most gratefull for this year, but as you've got about twelve months headstart please start working on it a.s.a.p. and I will, in return, give you all free entry ! !

Stay safe on those 'monsters'

Cheers
Peter"

I have also done my homework on the "P11".
It is in fact a 750 Commando with a Matchless competition tank and P11 exhausts.
There are other cunning little mods and it is for sure a very stunning bike , but P11 it aint.!....Clever job though, sounded gorgeous too..:mand:
