I want one of those to protect my Mg. generator cover but it's a slightly different shape and I certainly don't intend to pay 150 bucks for a tiny sliver of CF! As suggested, just to protect the chromate coating from stone chips.

.......Couldn't you lay one up using your Alternator cover as a mould?

Or better still make a mould from another cover the same shape as your mag one, which would make it easier to make any mods to the shape for mounting or clearance purposes.

You might want to make a male mould from a female moulding off the case.?
