And my phone battery's dead. Bike spilled oil all over the place. One of the screws went... Was on my way to Lakes. ****ing furious :fiery:
My missus is in Buttermere, so ideally I would like to join her, but then what to do with the bike? No contact number to recovery :fou: . Woman from Highway Agency contacted my broker. They couldn't track my recovery details - useless bastards! So I guess I have no choice but to pay for one. And I can't even call it a day...

A drink :) I'm good, many thanks. Waiting to be picked up by highway agency patrol. Just not sure what to do with the bike. Do you know some garage around you could recommend? Don't feel like coming back to london tonight.

I have a cover, but can't access it. Can't contact my broker directly either... Bit of a bummer.

Must surely be AA, RAC or Green Flag? I'd phone each one and see which has your reg. I'm with Carol Nash and that is AA.

Theres DMC Moto at Preston which is a Ducati dealer which is just off the M6 junction 31a.

They'll be open at 9am saturday.

Hope that helps.

Sorry for late reply folks. Managed to leave the bike at DMC Moto. Took them 1h to sort it.
They were great by the way. I was really lucky that I didn't kill myself (rear tyre and wheel was completely covered in oil) and secondly that the engine survived it running on the last few drops of oil... Here's what happened:

The middle screw came off...

So it wasn't the oil drain plug then... Glad it wasn't too serious an ending to the story...

Hi Kuba glad it worked out OK, I did ring the store first thing Saturday morning to let the guys know of your problem and to be ready to hopefully get you back on the road...

If you're around tomorrow I'll be back and forth between the two stores moving stock so might meet up...

Buzzbomb, sorry again for late reply. I was in Buttermere the last few days cut off from the world. No wifi or reception. Heading back to London now.
Many thanks for your help mate!

Just seen this. Hope your holiday goes ok from here on.

It was caused by loose screw which came off. I wouldn't call it mechanical failure.
Just make sure your screws are all tightened...
Thanks, holiday's now over, time to come back to reality :)

It's the cam position locking plug in the middle of the cam end-cap, pretty much all desmo-due motors have them

Ahhhh....vibes...yes, I've had bits come loose on my M696 and ZX6....

Glad everything is ok and you and the bike survived unscathed but I think Ducati are taking the 20th Anniversary thing a little too far by bits falling off so readily!!
