Sadly, my first post here after TWO DAYS of monster ownership love affair is

Had a static drop yesterday:dunce:

On the way down, I tried to save the bike by cushioning the fall with my elbow...(nice gash...). Managed to save the pipes, bars etc, but snapped the rear indicator tray. A nice white van bloke chucked me couple of cable ties to bodge it back on for the ride home...but it's looking pretty sad :(

Any suggestions where I can get a replacement tray from?

Thanks!
Newbie with a shaggin' sore elbow!

Hi, welcome

Karma is telling you to tail chop :)

I know what you mean about trying to use your body to save the bike. I do the same thing instinctively.
There have been times when I've dropped a kitchen knife while doing the washing up. My foot instinctively goes underneath to cushion the blow. Fortunately, up to now I've always been quick enough to pull it away before spearing my foot.

Also, first time out on my 750, I made a late change at a double exit off the M1, went over the cross-hatched area, hit a hidden, concrete lined drainage channel and bent the front rim.

So I can empathise with your situation.
Sounds like you've got away without too much damage though.
Unfortunately, I don't have a spare teatray though ....but I'm sure a tail-chopper will be along with a spare one.

Tail chop it is then! Turns out cheaper and better than original anyway...
Elbow healing well, ego still recovering though....

Hmmm...... There's a definite vertical component to the angle of your numberplate there, Al.
Small, but definitely discernible. :mand:

I think there is something to do with the maximum safe lean angle of Claret involved in the design...?....;)

So you don't have a beer tray it's a wine tray instead, bit posher? :)
