Hello,
I'm a new biker and just got my first bike, a Monster 600 from 2000 with 12000 miles on the clock. Loving it so far!
The rear tyre needs replacing soon so would appreciate any recommendations you guys might have. I think I have Dunlop Sportmax 160/60 17 on at the moment.
And if you have any others tips or advice please do share :mand:

Welcome to the club. Well done on getting your first bike.
Tyre's will depend on what you're going to use them for.
Commuting, Sunday rides, trackriding ?
And your budget.

Do you need to replace the front too?

My choice is Dunlop Roadsmart 11's -I've had two sets on my Monster S2R and the original Roadsmart on a previous Cagiva Raptor (RIP) - I can't fault them! In particular they inspire confidence in the wet and I can't say that about some of the tyres I've used! :gromit:

The 600 is pretty easy on tyres due to light weight and low power. A softer compound will still give good mileage, and provide grip better in wet/cold conditions. I personally like Michelins, and either the PR3 or Power 3 (I'm currently using these on track) should suit the monster well.

Hello and welcome. Tyres are a bit of a personal choice people can let you know what they use and think of them. best to use what your confident in and like. my only advise is get the best for your style of riding.

I chose mine on the basis of which ones had the best looking tread pattern :)

Thanks people, all comments much appreciated. The front tyre is fine for now and I will only be using the bike for sun, ie. dry conditions and no commuting.

If "best" is the same as least I'm in full agreement...................

<-------- pretty much, although they also look a bit like a 'tribal' style tattoo which I liked :)
