Torque Wrench ?

I am after a Torque wrench specifically for my motorbikes. What kind of size should i be looking for in terms of range of nm's ?

Does anybody have a file that shows the torque setting for the bolts on the Monster 1100 evo ??

I would buy Norbar personally, I understand they also manufacture the Halfords Professional torque wrenches so a Halfords one would be a good bet. They do an 8 - 60 Nm version, 3/8" drive, or a 40 - 200 Nm version with a 1/2" drive.

Anything from 10NM for things like engine casing bolts to around 80NM for front axe nuts and up to 230NM for a single sided wheel nut if I remember right.

Bought my Halfords Professional wrenches via e-bay . May a fair saving.
Bought two, one for the lower range and one for the higher ranges

You really need two to cover the range like Oz said

Some nuts like single sider hubs, crankshaft flywheel, engine output sprocket and clutch need a really high torque value. This will fall well outside the top range of a wrench used on smaller bolts. High range torque wrenches are not ideal for smaller bolts, and are usually too bulky to use in these locations as well. I use two myself - smaller one for the 0 - 80lb ft range, and another larger one that goes from to 20 - 150lb ft

I once tried to torque the hind legs off a donkey. The RSPCA were not impressed :eek:
