Decided to sell my1995 Ducati Monster 600cc.

I bought the bike off a girl from work who owned it since 2008. She hadn't used it much and it's been sat in her garage for the last few years(nice dry garage) gathering dust. She's moving to Canada and asked me if I'd like to buy it. I've not got a bike license and have got too many projects on the go at the moment so I've decided to sell it.

I've given her a full service (thats the bike not the girl from work) using genuine Ducati parts which includes the following parts (please see the pics of the parts that have been changed)

New oil filter and oil change.

New fuel filter.

New air filter.

New spark plugs.

New battery.

Fitted new cambelts.

Cleaned out the fuel tank and fuel lines.

Decided to send the bike to my local bike expert to have the carbs rebuilt. Thay have been stripped down and cleaned and rebuilt. The engine will start from cold with no choke and runs very smoothly.

The bike has been carefully cleaned and is now looking fresh and in excellent original condition.

The bike has just been MOT'ed and passed without any problems and now has a full 12 month ticket.

The bike is on SORN and is registered to me with my name and address on the log book.

I've taken a video of the bike and placed it on you tube.

The bike will be listed on Ebay around 8pm tonight.

how many owners, how many miles, how much £ ?

It's done 12,000 miles but unfortunately doesn't come with any service history to speak of. The girl I bought it off did have the bike serviced but for some reason she didn't keep any of the bills. I do have some old MOT's and condition wise it looks like it's not done many miles but as I say can't prove the mileage is correct.
Owners wise the girl I purchased the bike off bought it in 2007. Its had a grand total of 9 owners plus me so seems to have changed hands often. Unsure if this is common and way over the norm for a 19 year old bike.
Price wise going to test the water and see what sort of response I get when it goes on ebay tonight. Starting at £500 so fingers crossed will see how it goes.
Cheers
Chris

Not been there in ages, remember some nice roads to play on though a bit busy summertime.

Enjoy

Testing the market so set a high'ish reserve. Could end the auction for the right price.

Sorry for not getting back to you with a post but been very busy at work.
The bike is going back on ebay tonight at 930 pm if anyone is interested with a lower reserve. It got up to £1100 last time and the highest bidder contacted me after the auction wanting to buy it. I offered it to him at that price but he failed to get back in touch so it's still for sale.
Any questions please ask or give me a ring on 07849 764 982.
The bike is in Darwen Lancashire
Cheers

That's the problem with reserves but it's a leap of faith to list without one.

Good luck with the sale this time

I'm doing the ebay thing.

Like said its gamble, you got to be prepared to sell it for the lowest bid and be ok with it

I won't be ok with it, but that's the gamble and I'll have to live with it

Have you decided to sell then?

I'd be very interested :)

Yeah, definitely. My mates went out tonight and I couldn't be bothered. So that clinched it for me

Ebay will determine its value. I might get more than I hope for if two people really want it

Hopefully the op will aswell

When I sell stuff, I just start the sale at the lowest price I'll accept and anything over that is a plus.

I can't see the point of a low starting price and then a higher reserve, I don't even bother bidding on something with one...
