I've not been on the bike yet this year, until today.
MOT time . checked it over, came to put the battery on. The tank catch was very tight undoing it, and when it came to fastening tank down again, i only just managed it.
Theres no more adjustment at the rear of tank unless i start elongating the holes in the bracket. Will only go so far as seat then won't fit.
It was sat all winter with minimal fuel in it. ( super unleaded)

my 06 s2r 1000 is the same
only discovered this after moving it lock to lock and having the steering damper make 2 little marks on an otherwise mint tank

hand i noticed i would have taken out the hinge pin first

only fix was to elongate the wholes on the bracket to move it back a bit

I wish as a goodwill gesture, Ducati would sell replacement ally tanks at what it costs to produce them. I'd go for it.
