The seller is quite correct, it is "Gulf colours!", and they look good and subtle on a Ford GT40 or a Porsche 917........but all over on a V Max??????

The description text is nearly as loud as the paint on the bike, at least, as noted, the tyres are rubber compound!

What's the small chain on the small sprocket driving?

slob

Chain tensioner

Chain tensioner

Ah, thanks. How does that work?

It just pushes up on the chain to prevent the massively long chain from thrashing about. You might see similar on moto x bikes with long chains

I'm not sure that it is a chain tensioner jockey actually.
Looks to me like the chain goes all the way around it.
I'd say its more likely to be on a jack-shaft between the gearbox sprocket and the rear, possibly in order to correct an offset between the sprockets.
Another possible reason would be to shift the drive sprocket nearer to the suspension pivot point, but I haven't worked out exactly what's going on with the rear suspension so its hard to tell.

Oh yeah, there are actually 2. I didn't see the other one. No idea what thats all about.

Dirty

Yes, I thought I could see a chain going all around it which was why I was confused! Still it's all relative. I'm far from being as confused as the owner of the V Max :)

Im wondering how large the turning circle of the chop is, cos on initial looking, the exhausts look like they might foul the rear of the front mudguard, reducing the ability to turn. But I am impressed with use of the old 'fire extinguishers' (if thats what they are) for a fuel tank.

Darren69
30-04-2014, 03:30 PM
Is it me or do the exhaust resemble a question mark? as in wtf????

You guys miss the point. The way he made it no matter what his wife says, no matter what the situation is he will be telling the truth when he says there is no one right now who wants to buy it ;)
