Ok so it is simple stock cans on 695 have much more link pipe going in to exhaust heater at joint then my D&D cans. Almost twice as much.

Is it ok to chop a bit off from heater to slip-on link? If you look at photo below at joint you will see the cut out enabling clamping the pipe well about half of it would have to go. Any ideas against?

This bit is to short:

That first picture just messed with my eyes.
But when it finally dropped into focus, I could see what you mean.
You'll probably get away with cutting the header, but really the stub looks too short and may not give a very good location/seal.
For best, I'd be more inclined to cut off the short stub and get a longer one welded on.

I've recently been cutting up some headers myself and I found that a nice new hacksaw blade is as good as anything to cut them.
The angle grinder and disc method actually takes longer as the stainless is quite tough.

In my job a I cut and weld a lot of stainless pipe,I use .8mm thick cutting discs made specifically for stainless .115 dia X0.8 x2223 A60S Made by Sait.
Pity you chaps are so far away,I would be happy to weld bits of stainless together .Always some bike enthusiast,at work bringing bit's in to the maintenance workshop for welding ect,

All is chopped, all is fitted. BTW that pipe has shorter inner thing as that is how 1993 monster's have it.

Those D&D Cans are as mean as I remember them :)
Chopped top of the airbox but well to much so will attempt with another one later in the week as do not want air filter to exposed to rain.

DP ECU Software loaded but a small problem. It is idling 200 RPM higher at 1500. Drives me nuts how do I adjust it? I have already reset TPS and self adjustment, anything else?

BTW if you use angle grinder to chop top of your airbox well make sure it is in open area. Makes a mess.

Any idea what does that small box do under the airbox lid?

Why would anyone want to reduce intake noise?!
