Clearing out some bits now my Monster has gone.
First is a plastic seat cover, painted black but a bit rough - looks ok from a few feet away but you would probably want it repainted.

No cracks or bits missing, SOLD

Next up, Ducati top end gasket set for Monster 600 (98), part number 79120111b.
Its minus the gasket one of the valve inprection covers but otherwise all there - Sold

Ducati Monster 600 Polizia workshop manual - All intact and each page is in plastic sleeves.
SOLD

Lastly a pair of forks from an 888/851. They arent in great condition - some pitting to the stanchions and some wear/corrosion on the outers, i think where a braided cable has rubbed maybe? I was planning to overhaul them or possibly just use the internals.
For these i want £50 plus whatever it costs to post them, i would have to get a quote.

I can supply pics of any of these items if needed, and collection is fine with me if you are local to Malvern.

Thanks

Pics added on page 2

Hmmm......
I don't have the budget to buy Flips forks.
Are these the same Showa adjustables, and with fixings for twin discs ?
I might well be interested if they are, as a budget way of getting the ball rolling towards a fork upgrade, to be rebuilt as and when the budget permits.
I could probably muster the £50 somehow.
Could you post some pics ?

Hi, yes they are the same i believe - fully adjustable, twin disc mounts.
I'll sort out some pics sometime today for you, just need to wrestle my camera off my son when he gets home form school...

Hmmm again......

Well a rebuildable set to work on when the budget eases would certainly suit my finances at the moment ....as well as keeping the bike moving forward on its development path.
Do you know which spindle size these take ?...I'm guessing perhaps the earlier, smaller dia type.

Definitely interested.

Jeff what size axles does your bike have 17mm (early) or 25mm (late)?

Hi, just measured the spindle hole, its 25mm.
They did fit on my 1998 Monster which had a 17mm spindle, i used the adaptor that came out of the fork leg.

Anyway, pics -

The pitting on the forks is fairly smooth to be honest, i think i rubbed it down flush with th e chrome. The top adjustors would soon brighten up with a bit of tlc. There are some marks on the outers which i have tried to photograph.

Its a yr 2000 M750, with non-adjustable Showas and the 3-spoke wheels with the slightly smaller spokes.
I'm assuming its the later type, so 25mm, though I haven't measured it.
....until just now, when a rudimentary check with a ruler does indeed suggest that the threaded end is 25mm....while the other end is about 30mm.
That's not to say that these wheels will stay in the longer term, it depends how things progress and what becomes available, but it would be nice if I could at least use them in the short term.
And I could always maybe turn up some sort of adapter pieces on the lathe, for a quick fix....?

Since typing the above, I've seen your pics, Nick.
I must say that these look like they've got my name written all over them in capital letters.
The right amount of damage to be super cheap, but with the potential for superb performance after a rebuild, which I can do in stages as finances become available.
And in so doing, I'll learn a lot more about how my bike suspension actually works.
They're even in a nice colour, and the bottoms are plain ally, which suits my plans.
Just for completeness sake, and to give me a fraction more budget-worrying time before I sell the family silver to buy them, what diameter are the uppers in the yoke areas ? Mine look to be 50mm-upper, 54mm-lower.

You may also need to consider caliper spacing, these look to be 40mm but they changed to 65mm on later bikes. My 97 748 still has the 40mm but I think they changed around that time. But then again you can probably make some adapter plates.

Dibs if not sold yet please :)

Thanks for that, Darren.
Looks like my calipers care 65mm spacing.
Dunno how easy/possible it would be to make adaptor plates, but I'm sure something can be done, even if it means changing calipers.
I dunno whether discs would need changing too ? ...I'm kinda thinking/hoping not, but mine have a slight pulsing anyway, so it could all fit into the bigger picture if I have to change them. Though again, keeping them in the short term would be better, if possible. Mine look to have 10mm offset, measured from mounting face to outer face of disc.

Tell you what Max ....how about if I buy them, but if my WDW budget is flagging when the time comes, I'll flog them on to you to recoup the cash ?
....though, in truth, I reckon they're probably destined to go on my bike.
Sometimes things just seem so right that you have to go with the flow, eh ?

Actually, I dunno if there's something in the air lately, but in the last couple of days just about everything that I've touched has turned to gold.
My new pipes are coming on a treat, and yesterday I was given a spare set of headers to chop up for extra material.
I've finally solved the last design problem with my qd luggage rack design, and batch production is now looking very likely.
The bike looks resplendent in its new colours, and its cost me peanuts to achieve.
I'm well chuffed with my new, not-too-expensive, Corbin seat.
Now the forks.
And today, I was offered a huge length of "scrap" stainless tube AND I received 9 beers unexpectedly in the post.
And there's more on top of all that.

Anyway, I think that's a definite "sold" please, Nick.
They're gonna be a sod to pack and costly to post though, I guess.
Maybe better if I collect ? ...(you're about 70m from Leicester, are you.....?).

Ok mate, no problem. Cant remember the outer diameter of them but i know for a fact they fitted my 98 monster. The caliper spacing is 40mm.
You are more than welcome to collect (i think leicester is about an hour away from me).
Not sure how much a courier would be but i can get some quotes a bit later on tonight.
Thanks, nick

I sent lots of front forks from XT500's and around £17 with parcelforce. You can get cheaper deals than that though.

I think the disk offset is in same and you can just swap the forks and use the same disks, at least that is what they did with the 748/916 and later 996 as I think they are all pretty much the same. I have a set of S4R/ST4S forks but one has a very slight bend in one of the tubes so would probably need replacing, or would make good spares. They have the 65mm caliper fittings. There are some pictures on here somewhere from a few months back.

I'll buy the gasket set if it is still on offer.
Do you have PayPal?
Mine is '94 600 so I am hoping the gaskets will fit. I don't need to use the, they are just for spares.
Thanks.

Pm sent Dennis.
Gasket set now sold.

My apologies for not pricing up a courier for the forks yet, been really hectic and not had chance yet.
Going to attempt to do it now...

Looks like £20 to post the forks.

As said, it could probably do with a rub down and repaint, but looks fairly respectable from a little distance.

Jeff and Max are before me for the forks, I just need to work out some sums for rechrome and fettling versus Maxton rebuild on my existing set.
