A spot of weld from a man of your calibre and it will be like new again!

So what's the story? Are you modifying it or did it just fall in half?

Oh no... I hope not fallen apart?

Bit of JB weld it'll never show

No, not fallen apart.... it was a planned separation.
And this is a spare set of headers anyway.
The plan is to create two separate header pipes, of equal length as near as possible, leading to a collector and single hi-level pipe, and thence to a single can.
I plan to do this on a super-budget, using one of my existing ti termi cans and a bit of old link pipe which was destined for the scrap box (well, Capo's scrap box actually).
At the moment, having seen the mock-up and become all excited, its full speed ahead to try to at least finish a prototype to test before the bike gets its new tax this year, but I may run into problems and need to have more patience than that.

If anyone has any damaged exhaust bits hanging around, I could use a bit more 40mm header pipe (with or without bends), and possibly also the very end section of link pipe which connects to the can.

If it works, and passes dyno testing with reasonable marks (I plan to do back to back dyno tests against my hi-level twin-can setup), I may even get a few made up for sale.

I must say that, having mocked the system up on the bike, it does look the absolute dog's to my eye.
And, significantly, it loses the weight of one whole can.
I don't really have a definite plan though. Its a case of making it up as I go along, so I may yet hit snags.
The project began, in true biker build-off style with getting out the angle grinder and cutting up some std pieces.
All I needed was a few tattoos and a thrash-metal soundtrack for total authenticity. :toilet:

I've got a set (front/rear) of 40mm header pipes from an M600 that are doing nothing. (AFAIK the 600 and 750 use the same pipes?)

I won't be needing them so, FOC if you want to collect them.

Blimey, that's an absolute, definite, yes mate, ta very much.
There may even be enough there for the best part of the headers for a second set, in which case I'll pass your generosity on to another club member, via a bargain system....should I end up making any more.
And/or....I'm thinking of making some stainless replacements for the nasty, rust prone, split rings that hold the pipes into the cyl heads....subject to finding a suitable source of stainless thick-walled tube. I'll swap you for a set of those if you like.

Right then, this exhaust mod is a definite goer now. I'm not resting until its burbling away on the bike.
May have to postpone the dyno testing for a while though, lest my WDW budget suffers.
