Place finger on the text you wish to select, hold it there for a second and a magnifier will appear, remove finger then adjust the highlighted area by moving the dark blue dots then select copy. Tap the input box to select it, then tap again to get the paste option, edit at will :)

Works fine on my ipad. I just did it in order to write the instructions. That said I've stuck with IOS6 on that, didn't like the look of 7, perhaps the issue is with that.

I really want to do this. Last 2 years I have done days at Donnington. The first was a regular trackday with me on my M600 and EVERYONE else on 1000cc+ sportsbikes (there were a load of folks practicing for a race meeting the next weekend). I was in intermediates and was passed on every straight. No-one ever had a bad word or a problem at all. Last year was the Ron Haslam race school on a CBR600 which was much more the thing. I have a hard-on for the 899 panigale and would love to hire one to do this. The Man Maths (tm) is working overtime to justify it....I just don't think I can do it on the M600 again as tempted as I am...

Are you reluctant as you have been to the track for the last couple of years or due to only having the 600 ?
I am going and will be on a M reg bog standard 600 SS and yes most (if not all) bigger cc bikes and newer 600's will fly past on the striaghts and maybe have better brakes to get past into the corners. I am not going to be the fastest or show how quick my shiney new bike can go. I am going to enjoy my bike and the track.
Maybe the old girl will be slow and my riding is not fast but I will still leave the track at the end of each session with a smile (as long as we make the end)

NewMon

Don't get me wrong, I had a great time at the first trackday and the fact that others were faster didn't bother me. But I did feel the need for a bit more power which is one of the reasons I did the Ron Haslam day. I guess I am trying to justify the cost of riding the Panigale (which is my favourite 'grail' bike ATM). If I can't then taking the M600 round is an option and not one I'm afraid of (although it may need a service beforehand).

The 796 is off the road atm, and I wouldn't want to take it on track, and I am not sure that it would pass the noise test.

Though I have also cancelled. I hadn't paid up front and someone wanted my space so it was a "no brainer"

Keep it shiny side up folks that are going.

Well the UKMOC garage was missing one thing Monsters !
It did have 4 Ducati SS. My 600 Liz's 750 and Staffords 900ss plus a guy called Andy joined us with his 900ss.
Rain all morning but started to dry after lunch so got two wet sessions one drying and one dry session. (I did not do last session)
All in all not a bad day and the track is great. Ducati uk and CSS did a good job running the day.
Glad I went even with the crap weather.

Nice to see Liz, Stafford, Rick and the other guy who's name I've forgotten...:twak: from the :ukm:

I was there in my roll as Mr Shifter BUT where were all the monsters...

Stafford
28-05-2014, 10:13 AM
Pegboy was the name you're forgetting Buzzbomb. Also saw Alan Knight there and a few familiar faces.
There were a couple of lapses in communication from Ducati on the running order and lunch timings which left the novice group with a short lunch having sat around expecting to get their last mornng session and then they were wrongly advised of the re start time. As with all these events the weather is the definitive factor, make it sunny and all is great, make it rain and the world is pissed off.
Donnington is a nice track and I just need more time and some instructon on the lines, oh and a warmer day as well.
Would I pay to go with Ducati again? If it was to get the "hospitality" then no, if it was because a load of my friends were there that I like to ride and meet with then maybe yes.

pegboy
28-05-2014, 02:26 PM
we (me and Puddu82) didn't even take the bikes off the trailer. After watching everyone poodle around and with my near worn tyres and only having a set of slicks to change over with didn't fancy forking out for a set of wets nor dropping the bike. Was nice to see buzzbomb Scrapps, Stafford and Liz (who makes amazing cookies) and speaking to others around the garages. Saw some others I've met on trackdays and was nice to just chat with them also without the pressure of rushing back to get out on track.

We left around 10:30am and got home early and went to the pub, all afternoon:drunk:

Great to hear you guys made the most of it and even managed a few laps. Given the weather and the whole reason I'm doing these track days was to push the 1200 in prep for Spa. Had no desire to get cold wet and miserable after a long weekend at a wedding and risk sending my new bike down the road on a slippery track for no practical gain.

Fingers crossed for Silverstone! With both Rhona and I booked on the next think it'll will be a case of wet or dry TBH!

was good to see Liz & stafford out on track, and Ducati made the best of a difficult day. There was a jour no on a Monster 1200 going pretty well in my group, alas I was astride my Multi as no monster in the stable these days

I got lots of laps in doing 4 of the 5 sessions (30 min sessions)
I found that i learned to relax more on the bike while riding in the wet, I came in after 1st session tense and aching wrists due to being tense and trying to fight the bike and weather. The next session i made a effort not to tense up and fight the bike slowly building speed and not gripping the bars tight this it felt sooo much better. This gave me more confidence and feel allowing me to be smoother and faster.
So the wet weather in the Morning was not a total loss for me. Fitting new PP3's was a good choice.:mand:

Liz
28-05-2014, 04:53 PM
Even I went out in the rain for the first session although I didn't stay out long! The track dried out nicely after lunch so had a good couple of improving sessions (and I even managed to overtake someone!). A nice track and I'd certainly be up for another day there in better conditions!

You were one busy fella fixing the bike, changing wheels/tyres, changing them back again and moving forks etc. made me tired just watching with a cuppa and liz's cookies in hand.
Hope you get the bike all sorted for next time out.
