You'll be very lucky to get a good S2R for that - they seem to be about £1000 more

You'll wait for ever on that budget. Average price for a good clean low miles S2R800 is around 4 grand.

They actually fetch better money secondhand than the newer M696, 2V 900's and S4's

You may find high mileage money pit or a damaged/repairable for £2800

Yeah, prices going up a little bit I think, 3500 should get you a nice S4/S2 but you could pay that for an original '93/94 M900!

I've got to be honest I think the other posts are correct and you will just not find decent examples of s2r's at that sort of money. I've been looking for one sine September last year and privately your looking at least £3000 for good s4's £3500 for decent s2r's. Dealers are charging at least £4000 for early examples and more for later bikes especially with extra's

Probably goes to show how good they are to command that price since local dealers here are asking the same money for street triples and the odd street triple R and bit more could get you a 696/796 or a ktm superduke.

My s2r1000 went for about 25% more than you budget recently. That had 16k miles but a lot of recent work. As said above you might find a higher mileage one for that but I would strongly suggest trying to get one in good condition with solid history. You will be better off in the long run.

I'm sure I have seen them go for your sort of money though so if you are patient you might get lucky

Be patient and you will find one

cheers all
I've given up finding one quickly and realise if i get one i'll be looking after it and not out in this constant wet weather. For now and buying a CBR to tide me over, not my first choice but i know the owner and its tidy and hardly been used. Selling my Vespa too so there's some comitment.

I'll take my time but please if anyone see something nice, let me know...

Looks nice! As ever though, factor in the cost if a full service with belts and valve clearances if it hasnt been used much recently (and at that mileage it sounds like it). Worst case then you can get it freshly serviced yourself.

I have a 2006 S2R 800 Red / white only 600 miles from new and is as new tucked away in my garage and a 1100 Evo Anniversary 0 miles never ridden by anyone and can't decide which one to sell as neither could be replaced but one must go ??

How much is the s2r Allan?

Allan
07-03-2014, 11:54 AM
I am just trying to decide which one to sell at the moment and thought I would see what the response was like, but in all honesty I bought the 1100 evo to replace the S2r but standing them side by side and thinking through the pro's and con's I don't think I can part with the S2r.
I will have to decide over the next 3-4 weeks but neither will be sold cheap just to get rid as I would never be able to replace either one !

I have an '05 S2R that I am thinking of selling. Its red with white stripe & white wheels. Immaculate & used in summer only. Stored for last 2 years. 7209 miles. Standard apart from carbon hugger and Silmoto de-cat exhaust system. Its had a new battery & speedo. Tyres are good.
Still interested?
