Hi All,

I'm Bristol based so looking forwards to getting out on the twisty A roads around here once the weather brightens up a bit. Are there any members from around my way?

I've not been biking long, but I've always looked longingly at Ducati's so I couldn't resist when I saw a Monster S4 going for a song on ebay. Picked her up last week and had the biggest grin on my face when I took her out for a spin on Sunday.

Welcome on board.

Anywhere near Somerset, you'd be better buying a hovercraft or a canoe than an S4 at the moment!

It appears you've discovered that the Monster grin is like the bike grin only more so! Here's hoping the weather brightens up so that you can get out and enjoy it again soon.

Quite a few Monsteristi head to the Bristol Italian car and bike day (this year's is 19 April) http://www.biamf.co.uk/

Yeah it's a bit manky out atm.

Fortunately I managed to buy a house on top of a hill, so me and the bike will stay nice and dry until the floods go down :)

Where abouts in Bristol is that (general area) only interested as an exiled (in the Forest of Dean) bristolian.
Nice location though as you've got wales a spit away, drop south and there's usually much activity.

Waiting for good weather !!! It was lovely out last night, by about midnight the roads had dried off and it was well above freezing so I did a long loop home from work, 75 instead of 26 miles. First time I've really been able to chuck the bike round on the newish T30's since I put them on.

I'm from Wells, so quite close. There are plenty of good roads to explore in the area - if you can locate them under the water!!

Well worth checking out the BIAMF in April - loads to look at and listen to, a grand day out.

All the best, Martin.

Thanks guys, definitely thinking about going to the BIAMF. The only wrinkle is that it's the day before I do my first triathlon so I'm not sure how busy I'll be with preparations etc.

Are there any local routes people can recommend? If anyone nearby is up for a little group ride one evening/weekend I'd be very game.

Ah I'm away tomorrow night sadly. I travel a lot as part of my job.

But I did manage to capitalise on the nice weather today and get out for a quick blast around the ring road. Definitely got that monster grin :D
