Today Hellcat is in hospital for spinal surgery.
Titanium to be inserted.
I'm sure there are many members who, like me, would like to send their good wishes.

Crikey ....
Thank you xxx
I'm home now .
All went a bit mental
I picked up some shopping bags and thought I'd pulled a muscle.
Over couple months Physio didn't ease up.
Started going numb and dropping stuff.
Also riding bikes sometimes my head felt droopy.
Scan showed part of my spine collapsed into my spinal cord and
Also this big cavity travelling along it stopping spinal fluid getting through properly.
2days later after scan told get In for emergency surgery as high risk paralysis as now was having trouble doing simple tasks.
I put it off stupidly til after Christmas.
So yup now held together with titanium !
And stapled up neck :)
Sore but getting there!

Only plus point so far is I lost my voice a day after surgery.
I can whisper a bit . Strangely enough growl ?
But not much else.
It will come back.

I'm going loopy at mo as can't wash my hair .
Not allowed to do a lot of stuff.
Worst of all no riding bike for at least another 4 -6 weeks.
I'm bored to tears!
It's been a huge eye opener for me.
I'm fiercely independent .
I had drains in my throat .. Staples.
Drip and other grim stuff for 2 days I was hooked up to my bed.
Couldn't even turn over.
So glad to be mobile !!!
It all feels strange but no longer in danger .
Very glad of that .
Don't ever want surgery of that kind again!
Want my bikes :(
Thank you for the best wishes it means a lot to me x

Hi Mel,
Great to you're on the mend- now take things easy and don't rush recovery these things take time!!

Jeez Mel...Sounds really scarey..!!

Recovery boredom is a terrible thing, but remmember how you feel today and compare it how you feel this time next week.

A fellow at work suddenly announced that he had to go home to see his Mother-in-law, as she was poorly.
We were astounded at the fit of compasion, but it turned out that she had lost her voice and he didn't want to miss it....:chuckle:

Hope it's a short road back to normality.

Hi Mel, glad you are home safe.

At home is the best place to be with the current temperatures, provided you've a ready supply of hot tea.

Some useful time to plan what jobs you are doing next on your bikes.

All the best Mel. Don't push the recovery too quick. I did once & it ended up taking far longer to recover, mind you sounds like you aren't going to sit still for too long

Today I went for a walk with a crutch. ( pathetic).
Then couldn't get home !
I'm now up and about indoors but outside it hurts.
Plus the cold on my drain wounds on my neck hurts .
I was very pleased to see Wendy today who delivered my calendar ( sorry about my voice at the mo ). Fab Calendar !

Got a massive bunch of flowers today which was a big surprise.
Then a card from the lunch / nurture group I do ( children I work with ).
Now I have a home baked cake on the way the stuff that powers Steve Baileys BBB fabrications so that will awesome :)

Missing Hector :(
Staples come out the end of the week .
Another scar :)
Apparently my friend said " Chicks dig scars"
I'm not sure it works the other way round :(
Not fussed just want to get back on my bike :)
Thank you xx
