What do we think of these?

I like the look of it, being able to see he plate spinning looks pretty cool but I don't really want the extra noise or clutch dust thanks.

Has anyone seen a clear cover that isn't exactly open.

Look forward to hearing what you guys think :)

Not got a dry clutch but as you say you dont want extra clutch dust, surely a clear cover would soon be caked in clutch dust from the inside?

You don't get that much dust to be noticeable anyway. And if you use a correctly (read serviced) set up clutch with an aluminium basket will be less noisy(read musical).. ;)

So the clear cover would be a definite bonus ;-) I've seen this done on a few big Jap fours.

And here's a Ducati wet-clutch version (a little pricey though);

Part of the reason for running open on a dry clutch is to loose the dust that ordinarily builds up on a closed cover. It also helps them to run a lot cooler in hot weather, and in stop start traffic situations. I've always found my dry clutches need less maintainence and cleaning when run open. Plus I like the noise.

I am a bit of a perv for anything mechanical that moves so seeing a clutch whirling around would be great.

Love the covers above !!!

That could be messy with an open clutch cover then: shades of Torrey Canyon!

As the others have already said, I too love the noise and the look of a dry clutch and I agree with GT and DD that they run much better with them (you only have to look at Japanese race bikes to see they run dry clutches too so it must say something about them).

In fact I love them so much I want one like this for my little race bike as soon as I can spare the £700 for it.......

My last monster had a wet clutch, unsure looking back whether I missed the rattle or not, guaranteed my Next monster will also be wet clutch, Stuarts dry clutch 750 is a pleasure to look at, especially with the cut away case which he converted

I like my Road Racing Open Cover. It ALSO means that I can see the fruits of the spare Humbrol paint left over from the Revell 1:9 916 build!
