It really is a thing of beauty. There's some really nice touches, like the invisible exhaust hangers.

Nice bike (not sure about the Multi forks thought last time I've seen it) but 10k in the current climate is a big ask!

its lovely dont get me wrong but you could buy the bike 3000k max bits and bobs on it maybe another 2k and a really decent paint job 500 and the wire wheels got to be another 1500 and it would be to your specs for a lot less (7k) am i missing something?

Nice bike but that's the problem with a custom bike, it's never going to be worth what it cost to build.

If I wanted to sell my Monster, I'd get nowhere near what it cost me and if I asked, even for what it cost me in parts alone, I'd get laughed off ebay.

Build a custom for yourself, ride it, enjoy it and keep it because you'll never be able to sell it...

What he said

Or at least just enjoy the build and be prepared to take a bath when selling it to fund the next one.

Agreed, way too overpriced. I had considered putting wire wheels on mine but to use the sport classic wheels I think you have to use the sport classic calipers which are only one sided jobs, because the normal 4 pots will foul the spokes. I had been toying with some Alpina wheels at some point which will work with the 4 pots. Has anybody ever fitted some of those Alpinas?

£26k in parts maybe but it's still just a trick S4! Makes the bike in my OP look like a bargain!

Ah but there you're looking at a serious bit of kit.
Without wanting to compare/criticise the first one, this is something else entirely.
The S4 with double sided swinger is also probably the only superbike engined monster that I would personally consider owning.
£13k for that is not too bad imho.
The wheels alone are worth £2k.
Another £3k for a Ti or ally frame and you'd have yourself a superlightweight, responsive beast which would compare very favourably with the £33k NCR bike I fell in love with last week.
AND it would still be a classic monster.
Someone in the club should buy this bike.
Why don't we all chip in together ???

Ah but 26k in JHP parts (Just High Prices). It is a much higher spec than the other but you've got to really, really want an S4 as 12k is 996SPS money which is almost guaranteed to hold its value.

Even if I had the money though, and wanted an ultimate trick S4, I'd rather buy a standard bike and do the add ons myself. I'd bet you could get pretty close to that with £13k and a good eye on eBay etc plus the fun of getting oily.

As Darren implies it's certainly not an investment bike. Buyers for these sorts of machines are a pretty rare species I'd imagine.

Why has it got 4 fluid reservoirs?

There's a thumb rear brake

I'm told it has independent hydraulic systems for each front disc.

I definitely agree that for £13k you could build your own perfect monster with much more satisfaction, and that would be my choice too. In fact the cogs are whirring as we speak.
But if you wanted to buy a ready built special, old style monster, this would be a real tempter, for me at least.
I'd be wanting to look very closely at those wheels for tyre-change chips though.

Me too. But I've been getting ideas on what to do next to mine, all of which would be overkill but why not? I notice it has a floating rear disk which is something I'd been toying with trying as I had one on my SS.

But I did wonder whether it would mess up the speedo with the sensor able to move around?

So 1 pot for each front calliper, 1 for the rear calliper and 1 for the clutch?

Actually it's the caliper that's floating.

I don't know where your speedo picks up from? but I have this caliper setup on my Monster and have an electronic speedo pickup that picks-up the disc bolts but I have it mounted on a separate bracket from the caliper to avoid any problems.
